Hi can anyone tell me how these work. Are you able to undo them with enough tools like security screws in building where you just need the right tool?

Yes but it's a really odd tool. You won't be able to find it.
All you have to do is grab the tip of the cage and the bottom of the ring and jiggle them in opposite directions and the screw will eventually loosen enough to unscrew with your fingers. It's a joke, really.

HI if you are having issues with the screw loosing let us know at maturemetal@grandecom.net. There is a fix for that. We will drill out one side of the locking collar that is mounted to the top of the cage. The screw will be inset so there is no chance of getting at it with pliers and it will not loosen. The down side is that you will not be able to use a lock on it anymore.

I had MatureMetal do their fix on the screw security lock on my jailbird and it has not loosened since the fix. I wear it 24/7 and Mistress unlocks me once a month for shaving and play.

The screw on my Queen's Keep works really well. I cannot get it off.

@SubinMemphis Do you use an lube prior to putting in your security screw? If you have lube on your fingers or get it in the hole it will not allow the screw to grab hold and grip. Clean your screw good and try again.

No lube. Mine isn't the first. It's an old problem, usually fixed with loctite.
the best option would be two screws side by side but then they'd charge a testicle and a few fingers to drill and tap it.

I orderes mine without the screw. It was a mistake. I threaded it myself in my shop and bought a security screw from online. The screw is 100x more comfortable then the lock.

If MM would extend the tunnel where the locking post goes into the cage further back to accommodate a security tag it would be perfect

If you choose the screw option for the JailBird can you also still use a padlock?

Yes a proper size (sideways sitting) lock can be used.

Hey, I have a screw, but I might try the lock for fun. I googled sideways sitting lock. I don't quite catch your example, Mistress. Could you link to a photo?

It only goes in one way...sideways....in other words, "sticking out to the side".
It's ok around the house but bulky/in the way during the day. You'll go back to the screw.

William wears a lock 24/7 and has not had any issues with it... Since he has access to all the security keys he uses only a lock. You can have the lock corners rounded if you choose.
If you have a small lock that can rotate to run the length of the cage it will allow the ring and cage to have wiggle room with will give a non uniform gap causing issues.

Abus locks are available on line. They make small brass locks that work nicely on MM cages. The brass locks won't rust after getting wet. It can also be used in tapped screw hole as well

The thing that concerns me about the screws is that the same 'key' could unlock any MM screw on any device and the 'key' can be ordered separately. Or correct me if I'm wrong.

If you are wanting to countersink your screw, please let us know WHEN WEARING the device do you thread the screw from the LEFT or RIGHT?
Remember you can no longer use a lock.
    Thanks

I have since come across these, and which I saw somwhere Lori also uses them.

    http://www.brycefastener.com/security/key-rex.cfm

Can these be used in MM devices?

Hi You can only purchase keys on the first order only. If you order a second cage with the security screws we will issue a refund on the security screws and thread the hole for the screws you currently have. You can purchase the screws (as many as you like) but not the keys.

Thanks. But does this mean the same screws/keys are used for all devices to all customers (i.e. they're interchangeable) or does each customer have his/her own unique screw/key? If former have you considered adaptong to accommodating something like the key-rex type?

I've not had any issues with the security screw loosening. It is much less bulky than the lock (I started with a lock but had the screw retrofitted. With the screw, the JB is by far my favorite device (I have two Steelworxx devised as well -- veyr well made but I prefer the JB design).

And which makes me wonder how (or indeed whether!) it's they sell to Lori who sells in the same line.

I´m sad to say that it is very easy to open the screw with a little screwdriver, that kind you use for electronic devices so for now on it have to be a padlock, or drill a new hole and use a numbered plastic lock as well.
