What impact does the DBR have on recommended cage length? My shortest underside measurement is 3-1/4" I know Mature Metal recommends subtracting 1/4" and have read many online recommendation to subtract 1/2" instead. I'm torn between ordering 1/4" or 1/2" shorter. Does the DBR have an impact on recommended length and thus better to go 1/2" shorter? I'd like as small as comfortably possible to help mitigate printing in jeans but also concerned about head sensitivity from friction. I experienced some very annoying head sensitivity with my first run with a cheap Chinese chrome plated cage when my head would poke thru a bit; not sure if there was any negative reaction from the cheap metal plating that may have contributed to the sensitivity. I think I've read others have complained of head sensitivity from friction but seams strange as if I don't have any cage on at all I'm completely exposed and zero friction problems - Is it a case of the cage causing increased sensitivity or a bad skin irritation reaction from the cheap cage? BTW, I'm cut and a grower. I've also sent a direct e-mail to Mistress MM at Mature Metal. Thanks, Steve
Yes, Mistress at Mature Metal was very responsive and helpful. She doesn't believe the Double Base Ring has any impact on the cage length, just takes up more scrotum space - they also maintain going w/ a 1/4 shorter than shortest flaccid length (underside measurement); many seem to recommend going a 1/2" shorter. I ended up going w/ a double base ring, 1/4" shorter than my shortest measurement, and a 3rd cage ring for a little more confinement - my Wife/KH likes the look of the additional cage ring. Hurry up and wait now...
I have a double base ring with a MM Jailbird, stuck with their 1/4" recommended and everything is cozy snug comfy
I went with subtracting 1/4" and it's fine most days but after long term wear I get shrinkage and think I should have gone with 1/2" for the perfect fit.
whats the benefit of the double base ring? I'm considering getting a JB to replace my CB6000. I love the way the CB60000 feels and am just wondering if the double base ring is better.
A double ring can help if your scrotum is well stretched. It will take up more room and hold the device closer to the body. If your scrotum is not well stretched, we do not suggest starting with a double ring. A double ring can not be adjusted in size.
I don't think my scrotum is stretched. I was just thinking the double was similar in size width wise to the CB2k and that is comfortable to me. so would a single be fine to go with?
I would go with the single base ring until you at least try it and know for sure what size works best for you. I have a single ring and just ordered another ring a size smaller.. After wearing the jailbird for a few months I believe you can fit into the next size down. Try it before making any decisions.
