I want to buy a 1" or so long MM Jailbird cage

Please message me if you have one for sale. I don't need the whole set up necessarily just the cage but let me know what you have.

    Thanks

Is it safe to assume you already have a Mature Metal base ring that you plan to use with the cage you're looking for?

I have a really small one. Would have to measure. It's a jailbird and less than 1.5". Is that still to big?

The smallest they have is 1 1/4". I know because that was the smallest I could get.

Yes that is correct. I mainly just want the cage but if anyone has a good deal on everything I might buy the whole package.

1.5" would be a lot better than my current 2" one. I am definitely interested.

Thank you for that piece of information!

Although MM web page still indicates the smallest length for a Jailbird is 1&1/4 inch I had them make me a JB back in May 2015 that was 1 inch in diameter and 1 inch in length. I later sent them a previous JB I purchased that was 1&1/4 inch in both diameter and length and they reduced the cage length to 1 inch (diameter cannot be changed). If you already have a cage and the diameter is okay, send that back to get it shortened as it will only cost $100.00, much cheaper that buying a new cage. If you have a shorter cage already you will end up with two 1/4" rings welded together with a remaining 1/2" will be made of bars from your current cage.

The smallest they make is 1 1/4". I know for a fact because I wanted a their smallest and was told it is 1 1/4" due to their design restrictions. I wear a 1 1/4"cage for the last few years and it is fine.

    Vinny:

It may be that at the time you bought your cage from MM the smallest cage they made was 1&1/4". I do know for a fact that I had numerous discussions with William from MM before he agreed to make the 1" jailbird for me. One of the problem he had was that even the 1&1/4" cage has a slight downward curve and the 1" cage was too small to do that. He made it clear to me that because the smaller bars only extend out 1/2 inch he would be unable to curve the wires. The first 1/2 inch of the cages is 2 - 1/4 inch bars welded together with no space.

When he finally agreed to make the smaller cage for me it he advised me that he also had another order for to reduce a cage for someone else to 1" in length. I subsequently sent my original 1&1/4" long cage to him and he reduced that to 1" as well. I still currently have both cages which are 1" in length, one is 1" in diameter and the original cage which he reduced is 1&1/4" in diameter. I'm sure that William or Mistress M from Mature Metal would be quite willing to confirm this is someone is interested in the smaller cage.
