I see that in 2018 they introduced the HT V3.
I didn't really see what the difference between the V3 and V2 was an I had already moved onto S/S devices.

Now they have introduced the V3 with PA wire. Which is a fantastic addition to the range and opens up the opportunity for entry level locking with a PA piercing to all. So all you guys out there 'Thinking about' getting a PA piercing can no longer use the cost of a PA device as your excuse. I may also, as a novelty, be interested in upgrading my HT V2 to the HT V3 with PA

Has anyone bought a V3 and can tell me what the difference is to the V2?

Are there any compatible parts between the V2 and V3?

How have they added a PA wire to the V3 and what has changed in order to add this?

I have a HTV2 and I've been considering upgrading to a 3.0 for awhile now. Compared to V2.0, some of the main differences between models are:
    1. Multiple sizes, 5 different tube sizes
    2. Lower profile
    3. Reinforced hinge/lock
    4. Customization (color and other modifications)
    5. Additional stock colors
Aside from the "magic lock" V2.0 and V3.0 parts are not interchangeable. Most important to you is probably the customization aspect. If you reach out to HT they might be able to modify the cage so that your PA can be threaded through it (vs the wire).

If you're into DIY, you could try drilling the appropriate diameter hole in your preferred tube size (I recommend reinforcing the drill site with mold-able thermoplastic afterwards). There are a few 3d printing files available for HT tubes, and you could modify one accordingly.

From some of the descriptions it seems that the ring is the unique part.
    "1 special PA ring,"
I guess it has a recess for that funky plastic bit that is on the wire?
I can see now that the V2 and V3 are not compatible.

Interestingly it says it is Airport safe.

I have an idea for a short story regarding Airport travel and chastity.

Yes. I wish there was a better picture of the base ring to show that recess and how it locks in. It might go “past” and curve around the brass cylinder lock.

I’ve never had an issue with airport security. I did get searched in a back room after I had my piercing with my titanium PA ring in. But it was a non event. Not sexy at all. Thumper (MN) on his blog has a true short story about his experience.

I’ve gotten through metal detectors in 316L stainless steel no problem. The backscatter devices will see “something” and you’ll get a pat down. The truth is that polite acquiescence to the professional pay down will get you through without a story to tell.

But go ready Thumper’s Wordpress story on his experience.
