I am trying to get to 24h wear with my MySteel belt. However, I noticed that I get sore under the hipband (red areas, sometimes a bit swollen and itching), on one location it even went to create some blisters. I do not feel it while I wear the belt, only when I take it off I see the areas and they immediately start itching. It is not an allergic reaction, since it happens only in some areas.

I never had that with the Neosteel belt (no rubber lining), I guess it is because the rubber sticks to the skin? What kind of lube/protection do you guys use under the belt to prevent this? Vaseline? Baby Powder?

My experience: rubber band are really irritating for my skin and steel only is uncomfortable.
Temporary solution for me is to use Saran Wrap all around the metal belt.
Only problem is that you have to replace after shower because of humidity.
Next step, I will try tube heat shrink (but not so easy to find one of this length)

Try bicycle tire tube, I used that on a cheap chinese belt once :). I tried baby powder today, didnt really work as it is gone under a shower and hard to re-apply with belt on.

Interesting, I'd have to cut the holes for the chains into it, but maybe an option.

I had this problem with my padded Carrara belt. A friend with a lot more experience advised me to simply wear a rash guard shirt between the belt and my skin, just like surfers or hockey players do under their wetsuits or pads. Just try an Under Armour shirt -- actually, an Under Armour shirt per day..

I used Vaseline now before, it seemed to work, just needed a lot of re-lubing.

The covers arrived and I wore it for 5h yesterday, very comfortable actually. They are made from a thin cloth with velcro pads, so you wrap it around the belt and close it with the velcro. Due to this, it works perfectly fine with the rear chains. I will keep you updated. Pics in my Gallery.
