Looking for opinions on being locked up in hot weather. My lockups have been either during cooler months or for short durations when warm outside. But we are thinking about starting a 3 month run now, but its going to be in the mid-90s temp wise for the foreseeable future and I work outside a fair bit. So concerned about cleanliness and comfort. I wear a QK.

I live in Florida, home of hot, humid weather, and I run every day, do yard work, and spend entire days at Disney World wearing a cage. I just make sure I keep it clean when I take a shower each day and haven't really had any problems. It comes off once a week for a good cleaning in addition to the daily cleaning it gets. I suspect it'd be easier with a vented cage as opposed to one with an enclosed tube, though.

Should be fine. I've been locked continuously without any removal for just over 3 months in a JailBird during a very hot summer in the UK with temps over 30 degs. I run early mornings when cooler. Have been wearing shorts which is much better. Careful to wash very carefully and moisturize lightly without fail.

you run while caged in a steel device?
what sort of running shorts do you use?
I manage to road bike while caged but running.... it seems like that thing would swing all over the place and tug my balls right off.

I do, too. I wear compression shorts when I am running, with an athletic thong underwear. That keeps everything in place just fine. .

Thanks for the encouragement! My wife and I are probably going to start up later this week. If all goes right be unlocked for our anniversary in late October, then back in until sometime around March.

On the subject of running in steel, I do that. The thing I have found is making sure your underwear supports everything very well and doesn't let it bounce. I use a very tight boxer brief personally.

womans athletic thong? or do they make those for men?
id think a womans thong would not have enough fabric to encompass the device and stop it from just sliding out the side

They make men's thongs. The ones I wear are made by JM, a Canadian company.

Men's athletic thongs tend to be called jock straps.

No, they don't. Thongs and jockstraps are two different things.

Interesting. Athletic thongs looked like jock straps to me. I'll bow to your expertise.

lol Thong expert. I'll take it. A jockstrap has two straps that go along the sides of the buttcheeks. A thong has a single strap that goes between your butt cheeks.

Like the others above, not a problem. I use loose Under Armour shorts.
My JailBird is smallish but not tiny (so it can be worn long-term) and I find it is secure when wearing just a regular man's slip underwear. It is vital to lubricate: i use a little E45 cream so everything can move (just a little) comfortably.

Not a problem. I exercise every day (cycling), just keep the package securely in place with good compression, whatever works for your sport.

do you have the cage "print" per say when cycling?
i assume you wear cycling shorts and the thong?
I ride with a few friends and dont want to have.... questions arise about my.... package....

I have a 20 mile/30km rule. Over that distance it comes off. Under that distance, I put a small ankle sock over the package and then pull it up against the abdomen -- the sock protects abdomen from lock abrasion and "softens" cage profile. No one notices, just looks like you've pulled package out from between legs, and when actually on bike there's no visual difference all.

I've been locked in my Carrara for a month without release in South Africa where temperatures have exceeded 40° in the shade and i survived. So don't worry you'll be fine.

Very useful thread. Thanks everyone who has posted. I’m trying to workout how to mix slightly longer stretches locked up with running regularly - it sounds like I’m worrying about nothing and should just accept it...

Omg being locked up when it’s humid outside is a NIGHTMARE. (The horror of friction) I put a diaper on with powder to keep sweat from building.

In warm weather I've no problems, but if a cool breeze picks up for too long my balls tend to quickly try and ascend into the body leaving me in pain and a sudden jolt of pain as my balls squeeze past the base ring and cage shortly followed by the other one now that there is room.

The problem is the cold for me which is normal weather in Ireland + all the rain

My wife might allow a custom device this year. She said no last year and the year before :(

I have no problem in my Jailbird. It has been on for 90 days here in Las Vegas. Average 106 to 112 degrees.

I have never had any problems with my cage in hot weather. Having your cage fit properly is very important so it doesn’t move around or slide down. Looking at different pictures in the gallery I see a lot of cages that seem to be to big and loose. These may create a problem in warm weather. Remember smaller is better.

I personally have more issues when it gets really cold and you get a lot of shrinkage. This causes tightness and pain in the base ring. Living in Saskatchewan we do get some cold weather so you need to learn to dress properly.

I just had to comment @Mash2214, a bit off topic, well totally off topic, but i think you live in one of the most beautiful places on planet earth, i was looking at pics on Google maps, all i can say is wow, those lakes, everything, just wow. I am hoping to emigrate one day and this is definitely going to be a place to consider. Very nice indeed.
