Hello to all you Chastity Mansioners, or Mansionites...Mansionese? Well, anyhow, Hello.

I'm a male in a FD relationship and have been for quite awhile. I've also been involved in BDSM
for a long, long time - since my teens and I'm not saying when that was, yet.

Her will is the chastity device that is in use. We've never seen a device that is completely
secure, other than a coffin six feet under, so we've chosen to not expend our funds, time,
patience, sanity, etc. on such a pursuit.

However, a reminder is essential for me to stay on the straight and narrow, so she provides
me with something to wear around my cock and/or balls at all times. I have to say it does help.

Knowing that there is no practical device that can be worn that is 100% secure, I've often
wondered how long it would be until a bio-electronic device is available. Something that would
be spliced into a subjects sexual neural path in the spinal cord. If the communication between
the genitals and the brain is interupted there would be no sexual response or pleasure.
Conversely, tapping into the correct nerves would allow a sexual response to occur naturally,
or induce a sexual response that would be beyond the subjects control. Imagine, as a
Dominant Woman, being able to quickly isolate the male sexual phases and to select only
the ones that you want, whenever you want. Arousal. Erection. Orgasm. Ejaculation.

Assuming that such a system becomes available in the future the potential is enormous for
a Dominant, and daunting for a submissive. Let's say that such a device could be controlled
wirelessly by a Mistress. Unless she enables the sexual response nerves in her male subject
there can be no erection, orgasm or pleasure of any sort for him. The penis has no sexual
fuction at all. But, if she decided that an erection was needed, and one that would not fade
until she was done with it, it would just be a matter of finding the wireless remote and pushing
the right button. Or maybe there would be an iPhone app for that.

Maybe her sub is not allowed an orgasm for six months at a time and she is concerned about
prostate health. Setting up a complete ejaculation, minus the pleasure of an orgasm of course,
would be a simple, no fuss, no muss affair. Perhaps it could be programmed to occur at a
certain day and time each month. He'd just need to be home and ready for it when the time
came. Then again, maybe an enjoyable orgasm for him is what she wants. It's the same
quick and easy process, just a different result.

Or, as a punishment it could be set to happen the next day while he was at work. Exactly when,
he wouldn't know. As a threat that should get his attention, and rapid compliance.
And for those who practice Tease and Denial, or Ruined Orgasms...well, it would be a game
    changer.

Is this just an idle fantasy? Well, sort of, but sort of not, too. There is a precedent that points to
the inevitable reality of the capability. Whether the technology is ever used for a BDSM purpose
is another story, but I say it's just a matter of time.

This weekend there is a TV program on that looks at the possibility. It's about three
middle-aged women who are unable to orgasm and the researcher who helps them
by stimulating the right nerves in the right way via a spinal cord implant hooked up to
    an electronic box.

It will be on the Discovery Health network, in the US, Sunday June 27, 2010
at 10:00 am Central Time. It's titled "Electric Love".

I saw this program several years ago, 2005 ?, so it won't be the latest technology from
a 2010 standpoint. I don't know if the show is available in the UK, where so many members
are located, but it might be, as two of the women are from the UK.

So, how's that for a first post ? Did it kick anyone's imagination into gear ?

I'm seriously into geeks... so that post hit all the right buttons with me!

I wonder if we get that channel in the UK.

    :welcome: to the Mansion.

Thank You for the Welcome, and I'm glad to be here.
And I'm glad you enjoyed the post Mistress Watchful.

I'm hoping there is some kind of an update to the program this time,
since it's several years past the original broadcast. I'd love to know
how things turned out for everyone.

I would guess this program is about the work of Dr. Stuart Meloy: http://articles.latimes.com/2008/feb/11/health/he-orside11

Interesting idea. I wrote a story some time ago set in a (near) future. A way had been discovered to link a man's sexual responses to a specific woman's pheremone signals.

Initially this was enthusiastically taken up by religions, since it ensured fidelity . . . and what woman would want to marry who couldn't agree to be faithful even on his wedding day ?

The possibilities for FemDom / FLR are obvious - especially when it is also discovered that woman can 'mask' their pheremones and, therefore, deprive their partner of any sexual satisfaction unless they specifically permit it.

It's quite long but I'd be happy to post it if anyone was interested.

Thank you, jabber43, I believe that is the guy from the documentary. And that is the update
I was looking for. I have the program on the DVR, but haven't watched it yet to confirm it's
the same guy, but it must be. The article tells me he has advanced the product
somewhat, and his plans are intriguing at the least.

I'm sure it'll be a decade or more before it is refined enough to allow the precise selection
and control of male sexual responses that I envision as necessary for a full-fledged
bio/electronic chastity device and/or tease and denial toy, but it is coming along.

These quotes from the article clearly indicate the promise the technology holds:

"The experimental implant -- now trademarked by Meloy as the Orgasmatron after the
orgasm-inducing cylinder in Woody Allen's 1973 movie "Sleeper" -- rests on the skin just
above the belt line. Two electrodes snake into the space between the vertebrae and the
spinal cord. A video-game-like remote control allows women (or their partners) to turn
electrical pulses on and off and fiddle with timing and intensity."

"Women who have used the device say they feel as if their clitoris and vagina are actually
being stimulated, to quite realistic effect. ("One woman asked me, 'Would it be considered
adultery if I gave the remote control to someone other than my husband?' " Meloy says.)"

"And even the successful women in the trial lost their recovered orgasmic ability when the
    devices were removed."

"Meloy says he has also implanted two impotent men with the device. Both volunteers
were able to achieve an erection, he says, and reportedly had powerful ejaculations.
Meloy sees two potential male markets for the device. One includes men with erectile
dysfunction who take nitrates for heart disease and therefore cannot take Viagra or
similar medications, like Jack Nicholson's character in the film "Something's Gotta Give."
The other might be recreational users, men interested in boosting their existing erections
and ejaculations -- and willing to pay for elective surgery."

It doesn't take much reading between the lines to see the chastity potential.
Imagine the control being a wireless RF device, or activated by an iPhone. Mistress could
allow her charge a quickie handjob when she's far away, but not to completion, of course.

Anybody that wants to see what chastity, albeit high-dollar chastity, could look like in
10 or 20 years, needs to look no further. This is it. Let's hope Dr. Meloy has the good sense
to protect his work, and a serious kinky streak.

Keep an eye out for the IPO.

Using radio to control the implant causes some interesting security issues, though fortunately not as risky as radio controlled pacemakers: http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2008/03/wifi-pacemaker/

He has obtained a broad and abstract patent on "A method for treating orgasmic dysfunction comprising: supplying electrical stimulation to a selected area of the spinal cord of a patient in an effective amount to achieve genital stimulation and orgasm." http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6169924/description.html

This means that nobody else want to research this area, because any result of the new research will already be patented by Dr. Meloy. This is how abstract patents work.

So I would guess it will take at least 20 years before we see any significant development in this area.

Yeah, I think you're right about the radio control being problematic. I'd hate to think that every
time the neighbor opened their garage door that an orgasm could be induced. Perhaps there
is another method of remotely controlling the device besides radio. I like the iPhone concept
    myself.

OK, all kidding and fantasizing aside. I dug into the website you provided regarding the patent
information - by the way, thank you for the link - and I see that a lot of work has already been
done towards sexual stimulation through the spinal cord, parallel to Dr. Meloy's efforts.
Already, an erection, ejaculation and orgasm can be produced by spinal stimulation. Once
a reliable and approved product is available, adapting that technology for blocking and
controlling erections, ejaculations and orgasms won't be far behind. And with the multiple
development paths in place I don't see any one entity being in a position to block similar
    products.

I have to believe that companies like PES and the others in the TENS field of sex toys have
an eye on the technology. They succeeded in adapting an existing technology to an
alternative use, and will do so again if there is money to be made.

    Oh, the joys of capitalism.

I believe most research into achieving erection and ejaculation in males by direct nerve stimulation has concentrated on stimulating various pelvic nerves instead of the spinal chord. Electro-ejaculation can be seen as a crude way of doing this nerve stimulation.

While it is pretty easy to achieve an effect by stimulating nerves, it is a lot harder to avoid an effect like erection or ejaculation by electrical stimulation. If inhibitor nerves are found they could be stimulated, but I do not think they have been found and they may not even exist.

A more viable approach to an implant prohibiting ejaculation would probably be intelligent monitoring of pelvic nerves to detect approaching ejaculation combined with precisely timed nerve stimulation to disturb the ejaculatory process before it really starts.

Jabber, it's sounds like you've given this topic some serious thought, too.
    And thanks for the feedback.

I don't believe that the existence of inhibitor nerves are necessary to block a particular
response. If the nerves that control the blood flow to the penis, or the muscles that
provide ejaculation can be identified and the communications between the brain and
the said vessels or muscles are blocked, you then achieve control of that function.

Your idea of "intelligent monitoring of pelvic nerves" is an interesting thought.

I suppose that progress will need to be made in several areas in order
for a bio-electronic chastity device to become a reality.

The problem is that I think it is almost impossible to stop the electric propagation of the nerve signal by electric means. To achieve blocking of the signal propagation in the axon, a blocking electrode has to surround the axon at a Ranvier node and be very close to it. We are talking a tubular electrode measuring about 1 micrometer in diameter and the same in length, which has to be precisely placed. But the electric potential from the electrode will be compensated by the voltage-gated ion channels in the plasma membrane of the axon, so an inhibiting pulse has to be short and come at the exact right time when the nerve signal is passing. Because of this another measuring electrode has to be placed upstream on the same axon, so the implant knows when to trigger the inhibiting electrode. And to block a single reflex such electrodes have to be placed around thousands of axons.

The only two other ways I know of blocking a nerve signal are:

    1) Physically severing the nerve. This is irreversible, and not many who like chastity like the idea of being permanently unable to ejaculate.

    2) Local anesthesia. This is not ideal, as it takes some time for the effect to disappear again. And cumbersome, because the implant needs a container with anesthetic, which has to be refilled from time to time. Furthermore there is a risk that the anesthetic also can hit motoric (loss of erection) and sensory (loss of sensation) nerves.

Yes, I started thinking about this approach because I could not see any good way to block reflexes. But with early detection of approaching ejaculation, it should be possible to do other things so the ejaculation does not happen.

And this approach also has applications which do not need surgery: For example I would guess that a butt plug with a few EMG sensors in the right places and sufficiently advanced analysis equipment could give this early detection of approaching ejaculation. This could be fun (or hell) when the teaser knows exactly when you are really going to cum. It would be impossible to try to act like you are going to cum to get a short respite in the stimulation, and it would be impossible to act like you are not going to cum to avoid the teaser stopping before.
