Women are free to comment to, but this is for the guys. @true42 asked for links on this topic in another thread and I felt this deserved a thread of it's own. Please share resources that you found helpful. I have several but am going to start with this one first and will add more later as I have time:

I posted this in the FLR forum because when guys set the pace in building emotional intimacy, women will naturally take the lead in the realm of physical / sexual intimacy. And that's exactly what a chaste man wants, a partner who owns the key to his sexuality.

Here's a really good article, "Why Do I Choose Activity Over Intimacy?", to stop and make you think about the ways you can build intimacy with your partner. It's written from a spiritual perspective and includes a number of scripture quotations and examples, but don't let that throw you off. The principles apply whether you are a spiritual person or not. I hear a lot of men on this site talk about the chores they do around the house to serve their wife. This article will help you understand that, while that may be important, intimacy is the far better choice. Don't get me wrong, my wife prefers intimacy, but if I start to let stuff go around the house for too long, she gets irritated.

I don't think that article said anything that even suggested work is important. But i do understand the message. My wife has quality time as a love language, I'm doing my best to understand this but it's still head knowledge concept to me.

The article @littleguy3 is worth reading. I was looking at it through the lens of an FLR. I think FLRs can be so successful because they naturally provide the framework for every point made by the author.

I stated that wrong. I can see why you thought i was saying that the article was suggesting that activity is important. What I was trying to say was that "Activity / work / service is important (my opinion), but emotional intimacy / connectedness is a better choice over activity.
