It sounds like it's been relegated to the 'too-hard basket' ... if I'm reading correctly folks' reluctance to have women verify they are women is because it gets in the way of the fantasy. The logic seems to be that talking to a male who is pretending to be female isn't really so bad, just go with the flow and have fun with it. For some reason the 'problem' seems to be mostly men pretending to be women. Women apparently don't have much interest in faking a male on-line persona. Wonder why?

Completely agree! yeah how dare we?? LMAO We should care more about the fantasy than the reality of the situation. I for one dont care if your a man, woman, sissy, crossdresser, or whatever you want to call yourself but for gods sake be what you say you are. I dont like being deceived by anyone, nor do most people.

 

For me it’s not about “suck it up there will always be fakers” more like “I would rather not alienate the real by making them jump through hoops(not exactly what this place is about) just to catch the fakes.

Many are not very comfortable sharing pictures online, I know mine wasn’t, and even though I have cropped her face, was a bit put off about them being out there.

The logistics...authentication could be handled through pictures with a mod I suppose, to really KNOW it was a female I’m afraid it would have to get kinda tacky.

To each their own, but losing real female member participation by forcing authentication is somewhat shortsighted. I could see on a volunteer basis, a header under their name or something similar, if they went through a small vetting process with a mod. Verified or something similar.

 

I agreeeeee ... I will weed through the "fakes" to make it easier for those real people that are unsure to be here, and not get turned away because they have to PROVE they are who they say they are.

 

why wud anybody want to do it tho. i know that some folks say things that not true but its usual cos they want something from you like money and things but a man pretending to be a Lady on here wont get nothing will he. its silly.

I would like to reassure you all that this site is really quite tame and respectful compared to the internet at large. It's interesting to me that a taboo subject like chastity gathers a group of fairly respectful people that have great, civil discussions for the most part. Take a look at any comment section on a news site, or youtube to see how quickly people spiral out of control. I fear for society sometimes.

Regarding the fake profiles, I agree with other comments that having too many restrictions (like photo verification) will scare off new female members.
I also agree with others that over time, it is not hard to spot a faker. There will inevitably be a slip up where there are story inconsistencies, pronoun mistakes, wild diary entries that are not realistic, etc.
Once this happens, call them out on it! Being exposed will bring out their true identity. They will either disappear, or they can defend themselves if the accusation was wrong. Just be respectful in this process.

To the fakers, I would say show some integrity. Don't let the fantasies in your mind corrupt your morals.
If you want to write fantasy, that's fine. Just acknowledge that you're writing fiction and go ahead!

 

For all we know women are just less obvious at fakery.

The result would simply be a little green tick next to the Avatar saying verified member, if it helps why not? people wouldn't have to do it but they could, if they felt the need, like you have. Another problem is people having more than one account and posting using their sock-puppet accounts in order to cause trouble. Some people not too far away know all about those particularly unpleasant games.

So most of you have probably gathered, I live a very sheltered life. But for the life of me, why would men on here pretend to be women? I dont get it! I can fully understand why men would hound females on here for domination needs etc, but not really getting my head around 'fake females'.
