The only time I was really in need of an emergency key was when I was wearing a cb3000 and as they sometimes do ..it split. and suddenly it was trapping skin on my penis. You either know from experience how painful that is or you don't. Luckily I was at home as was naked from the waist down in probably less a second. I got a spoon handle through the end slot and twisted, pulled and prised the slot wide enough to stop the nipping. Fortunately we did keep an emergency key at home.

I have though never needed a key since and my then gf stopped me carrying one when she bought us the stainless steel Fort. She said I did not need one any more but she did need to feel she had full control. Who was I to argue?

I never would have guessed how important that was to her. Yes she trusts me, but she also said “you still could, you could just unwrap it and use it,(the key) unless you can’t it just feels like I’m holding on to the key for you”

I’ve only wanted it off once, and couldn’t reach her in time, it was a impromptu surprise physical needed for work. First one in over 25 years, so odds wise, I’d have a better chance of being struck by lightning than needing it off that quickly. Lightning does strike though, I guess it’s not something I am particularly worried about, at least not enough to upset the apple cart.

thats a good idea, wallet is a good place too. I was thinking tamper evident tape but that might attract attention on my keychain and in a wallet the flexing or heat might affect it.

I know some people have as a condition of their employment to be willing to have blood or urine tests ... train or bus drivers mostly I believe. But as for a surprise full medical I can't see an employer being able to justify that one in the UK.

I had a motorcycle accident a while back and the paramedic cut the lock off.
The key would not have helped I could not have unlocked laying in the road with a crowd around me.
I do like the idea of an emergency key.
I am sure there are quite a few situations where an emergeny would help.

I understand the medical even the full medical and its importance I just don't get the need for the surprise bit. A week or so notice maybe only a day but surprise like NOW! nope it would not go down well in the UK nor do I think it would be enforceable.
