Does shorter mean wider?

    Hi I am very comfortable in my Contender but I have a Jailbird that’s the next diameter up internally. I was planning on having it greatly shortened so as to leave not a lot on show. Would the additional 1/4” inside diameter make that more comfortable? I am basing it on the fact it all needs to go somewhere.
