I suspect that LTC gets them from DHG and marks them up.

These both look to be the same Chi ese made cages. They claim to be stainless steel, not alloy. My guess is that they are the cheaper 304 grade, rather than the better 316. However, as most Chinese cages are 304,and since few people report issues wearing them, you're probably okay.

The bigger concern though, is wearing a catheter style device. I know they look cool, but I have a lot of concerns as to the long term wearing of a steel tube in your urethra. Others here could give you more advice on that.

@Tom Allen is right, LTC just buy from DHgate etc and then mark up, no point buying from them.

There’s no way I would put anything in my urethra that isn’t medical grade. Those cages are a rough copy of the Steelworxx Looker, custom cages from Germany that are made with high quality materials. If you’re serious about urethral inserts, consider quality and safety.

I bought from LTC and it took forever to get the product. The others are right, just buy it from DH Gate or eBay. Another good source is Koalaswim.com

Yep, a few of those Koalaswim units are downright scary! I bought one similar to those off eBay, I used the insert a few times and never had any problems. It didn't do what I wanted though as it didn't really control the stream or block any release.
    I'll post a link later.

I have that cage from DHgate. It's not terrible, a knockoff of a good design. The insert gave quite a bit of trouble. Due to its length, it can be difficult to get a urine stream started, and it always retains a significant volume to release by surprise later. I found doing a full squat would trigger the splash, which I could manage at home, but is useless outside the home. With the insert, it's also prone to dribbling around rather than through, as 6mm doesn't block the urethral well. Without the insert, it's a sprinkler head.

With a different insert, it has some promise, but you'll have to be able to do some modifications.

Hinged rings always grate the perineum skin. I wrapped the joint with plumbing/thread sealing teflon tape, which solves that problem. If I were ever 100% satisfied with a device with this ring, I'd send it off to be welded.

You might try some electrical shrink tubing around the hinge joint. It should be flexible enough to bend for opening and still remove the pinch points.

@joe doe I would definitely look into eBay. There are some very good sellers there that have the same or similar devices and usually at better prices.

I tired that first. It's grippier than the teflon tape, also thicker, which creates a bit of a shoulder, both of which contribute to hot spots. The teflon tape can be tapered by overlapping, and a little stretch, which is required to finish the wraps anyway, renders it almost imperceptibly thin.
