Hi all, Looking at getting a better cage and slightly smaller, the cage I have now has a curved ring but just wondered those who have experience with both which do you prefer and why ?
I think purely a taste thing. I use both. My reasoning is that various rings apply pressure and rubbing motions in slightly different areas and ways. The variety increases my wearability.
i have a MM Queen’s Keep. When specifying the base ring, you can choose round or oval. I picked oval, but I can’t remember why, like perceived pros or cons. I can’t find anything on their website discussing it. if anyone has info/rationale, please reply
I’ve always had round, as they just worked for me, I also think it is personal preference, but this could also be down to different anatomy’s.
I prefer oval! I have big balls (Unfortunately) and the base of the ring will be bigger, so, more confortable. If you click on my signature link, you will see my own cage design, and I have used the oval ring!
If you have small testicles, you want a round ring. Otherwise there ends up having too much gap between the ring and the cage and the ball can slip out easier.
I find the oval rings better for containment… But I think that’s because in general I’m a small guy. So a 40mm circular leaves too big a gap on top and I can more easily slide out. The oval ring is more like 38x42 so it’s tighter where I need it to be.
I like the oval better. I need 50mm across and less (42mm or so) in the up and down dimension. 50mm round will just fall off when I’m sweaty working outside. The oval stays put.
We’ll, I’m eating my words. I just received a new steel chastity device from Terrence with a round ring (I ordered oval, or at least I thought I did) and the round is exceedingly comfortable. I’m sticking with it for now.

For me it seems if I'm sitting all day round is better. If I'm out walking around most of the day oval is better. I'm definitely new to this also.
i always did like round ones best but my new innie cage has got a curvy one and it is the best comfy cage i have ever had,
For me, oval. I found I could wear a smaller ring if it was oval. When I had a round one at a similar size everything shrivelled and went purple straight away when I put the device on. With the oval ring, it all stayed normal. Is likely to be down to anatomy.
Much of the choice seems to be personal preference or individual anatomy. Almost all my cages over the years have been steel with round base rings and they work well for me. I have a very small penis but rather large balls so they never slip out. Mistress says that I am out of proportion, and that is a shame such nice balls are wasted on such a tiny penis. lol
How do you measure for an oval one vs a round one. I sit all day. Most of the ones I have are round. they work ok. Oval does seem more comfortable when busy but round is where its at when it's sitting around. My issue with the oval is the gap measurement changes as a result. Which is important if you are high and tight.
Actually, there are at least three basic types of rings; round and flat, oval and flat, and round and sort of bent or folded in the middle. Maybe there is a bent oval ring as well? I have tried round and the “bent” types. I find the round one tends to allow the cage to rotate. The bent one does a better job of keeping everything lined up. Both are comfortable. Does the oval ring prevent rotation?
