Hey y'all, maybe this has been asked before.

But, there's an appeal to a remote-managed, Ethernet or wifi enabled safe, yeah?

Like don't get me wrong, http://www.dreamloverlabs.com/chronovault.php the engineering on this looks sublime, and ticks all the boxes of what I'd be looking for with remote management. But THAT PRICE TAG. WOWWWW. I've got plenty of other things in life to spend $500 on.

Soooooo, has anyone had any success with remote managed keysafes? Or come up with cool nifty hacks that might cost a pretty penny cheaper? Or is the ol' combo lock still the tried and true favorite?

There are any number of Bluetooth enabled, remote access padlocks on the market that could be combined with a small toolbox to secure a key. Master Lock has one that goes for about $100 but there are plenty of cheaper versions as well.

I like my masterlock Bluetooth safe. KH can control app on my phone with her app so she can give access or take it away.

Thank you! This is helpful information. :)
Your key holder has an app that controls your phone?

Sorry I’m just being curious about the tech!!

This can be very effective for remote keyholding, though it may be a bit geeky and clunky.

Keyholder takes possession of the box. She uses the Android/IPhone app and their bluetooth to program the box ownership and reset the defaults. The keyholder can send the empty box to the chaste.

When the keyholder wishes to grant access to the box (at the beginning or end), the keyholder sends an email to chaste who downloads their app and uses their bluetooth to gain access for whatever time limit the keyholder wishes. I would assume that the keyholder can watch the chaste put the key in the box and then revoke access until the end of the period.

Keyholder does not control the chaste's phone, only giving the chaste's app authority to open the box.

Yes use a smart key safe, there aren't any timer functions it's just locked until your keyholder sends you a release code. From about £100 ish

I recommend the Masterlock Bluetooth safe too. The app takes a bit of getting used to but enables full remote control

The Igloohome Keybox 3 is a great device, with good support and build quality. I’m really fond of their software and key options.

The MasterLock Bluetooth locks work well too.
