    Hi all,

I am very interested in a Cherry Keeper but is uncertain if it is smooth enough, especially the base ring. It seems that my skin is rather sensitive.

The one I am looking at is available in:
    - Natural versatile plastic
    - Processed versatile plastic
    - Premium versatile plastic
    - PA12

As I understand it goes from natural -> processed -> premium in smoothness?
Where would PA12 go in that flow?

PA12, natural and processed is pretty much same cost but premium is almost double cost.
Is premium worth it over processed? I have read somewhere that processed need sanding but some say that premium also might need sanding, so in that case I might as well buy the processed or would the premium still be able to get more smooth than processed when sanding?

What other things/materiels is the processed and premium smoothness most comparable to?

    Thz

I’ve only tried the processed plastic in white. So can’t comment on the other materials. But what I can say, is that I sand the cages by hand, going from 220 grit to 1500 grit and by the time I’m done, it’s comparable in smoothness to my stainless steel cages, with some exceptions. It takes me about 4-5 hrs to do, but can be kind of zen if you get into it. I’ve been meaning to write a DIY post about it, but haven’t found the time yet.

I have to agree, the processed one is great once you sand, and sand. It took me quite a while. If you dont want to sand contact the folks, they are great with communication and will answer any an all

i have a few from her, i have gotten the normal processed cages... and more recently a pa12. the regular processed takes some sanding... just go with the pa12. it is smooth enough that i didnt need to take paper to it.
