If you self lock, that is a good plan. Just get a Kitchen Safe to lock your keys in so you can unlock before leaving home.
I leave the keys downstairs to remove the temptation. So far I haven't had the urge to unlock myself.
There are a large variety of timed safes you can purchase also if you want to spice self locking up even more. I speak from experience. Before i had my wife I used and built a few. Also another technique that is fun is to freeze the key into a brick of ice. Yeah you can get to it fast if you're motivated but if you use a pop or milk jug it's a little harder, thus making the temptation easier to manage.
Try to go outside do do some running or similare sports, walks in the nature with the cage. At first you will be shy and thinks that every one is looking at you but with time you will get used to the cage and will be able to wear it in front of people without worring anymore.
I have wore it out once. It was only about 30 minutes but I did feel good about it and will do it again for longer
Good point, so try it every day, several time maybe when possible, try to keep the ring on and just put cage time to time. It's not magic, you will get used to but progress slowly, at least takes a large ring and a comfortable cage first, don't go for nano cages (what is your actual model?). After a while you will be able to wear it longer and longer. At some point you will succeed a day, then a night then several days. It could takes months, depending on your efforts and motivation and help. Open a diary on the forum and put your progress, we'll follow you. And buy a timer safe lock like the kitchen's one.
