It took them a little while but they eventually sent me another one.

A short update on my Cellmate: The first one did not open - so the support team instructed my to break it. I did receive a replacement one in exchange, but that one completely broke after a few weeks.. I did not contact the seller again, because even if he sent me yet another new one, I would probably not use it anymore (nor recommend it to anyone) -- the basic idea of the cage (including the new app version with enhanced remote key holding) is really really nice, I also like the wearing comfort, but the build quality seems to be shitty..

 

That's disappointing, I had hoped they would have improved that by now.

 

If I bought one now, what would it be like? Are these problems fixed? I downloaded the app and it seems pretty flaky. Fantasy aside, I don’t fancy being stuck in a cage for weeks while I wait for customer support to eventually release me if it gets jammed.

 

The device itself is plush. The app doesn't do it for me. Very slow, no failsafe option, no way to give a permission for a fixed time and a lot of fake accounts out there.

 

I got my CellMate a month ago. I've started wearing it longer and longer. Will do Overnight tonight.

I've also found the app quite easy to use and stable, but I haven't tried with the settings for Authorization and Regulator... I might try that using a second phone. The Manual is non-existant.

I find it the most comfy CB I've ever worn.

I was thinking of using it for soloplay timelocked, but i recently started dating someone awesome. She's really interested in Chastity (she played with it with a previous lover a few years ago) Shes delighted with the idea of denying me from afar (she lives 45 minutes drive away!!!!

When you say "separate the cover for the electronics", do you mean the whole of the top section or just the oval part where the electronic module is housed?

The top section not only houses the electronics under the oval part but also sandwiches the operating mechanism between itself and the black tube section and that will naturally release when separated although they are held together by five screws which are inaccessible while you're locked in it so forcing them apart will cause internal damage.

I don't advise anyone to try dismantling the device as two internal springs will make a bid for freedom and are not only likely to get lost but can be refitted in several incorrect ways and you won't have had a chance to see where they came from before they fly off into the distance! They also make it quite difficult to reassemble unless you do so in a specific order.

Why did I dismantle one? I intend to adapt it to lock my My-Steel belt!

 

Just so we are talking about the same thing here, the tube on mine was black, the part housing the electronics was grey. I am talking about seperating (with a fine blade) the grey part from the black. This will very likely irreversibly damage the cage (as it did mine), ...so this is not an undetectable escape

 

The electronics and the battery compartment are waterproof but the sliding locking pin is difficult to waterproof as adding three seals where the pin slides could increase friction to the point where release becomes erratic.

They claim it's waterproof to 1 metre and that may be true in plan water due to surface tension but I suspect it doesn't remain true in the bath or shower thanks to soap. I suggest wearing plastic panties while bathing or showering and then washing your nether regions afterwards, being especially careful around the "gentleman's area" not to get soap near the locking pin.

 

Many thanks - that's what I suspected. Yes, all the electronics are sealed just beneath the oval section (carrying the button and the two LEDs) and the mechanism is sandwiched between the black tube section and the grey, blue or red top section. Separating the black and grey (or coloured) sections from each other (which, when locked on, can only be done destructively) effectively dismantles the mechanism and hence releases the locking pin.

 

There's also the problem that the locking pin isn't a plain cylinder so sealing it is effectively impossible.

 

The timer can also be set by whoever has "authority" if you choose to assign it or by votes cast if you or the so-called "Keymaster" (strange terminology!) have run a "referendum".

There is a less destructive method of release than separating the two main sections but it still causes some damage and is detectable and, no, I'm not going to reveal it.

But of maybe *more* concern (from the above link) your identity and other personal info is vulnerable:

It seems that the manufacturers of these devices may be novices when it comes to high-tech expertise, especially where security is concerned.

 

The software has been re-written to resolve the hacking issue. There are still a batch of issues that they are working on but each day it is improving.

The Cellmate itself is comfortable. The remote control of your cage is scary but that is part of the excitement of being locked.

 

Yes, now the software of a company, that didn't keep our data save the first time, offers to upload pictures of you holding you passport or other ID card. What could possibly go wrong with this?
Glad the cage is comfortable for you. For me the plastic caused skin irritation until it had been washed out multiple time and the base ring is way too thin to not cut into the skin.

hey i had the cellmate now for a few days, but im missing my holytrainer v4 with PA Lock. this one isnt secure at all...

 

I found the Kink3d cages and love them. Much more comfortable and secure.
