Hello I have a Carrara full belt and my liner has finally worn out. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get the replacement liner from and what glue to use? I have attempted to contact Walter and have not really gotten any reply that is helpful. I really need a new liner. Thanks
This is the hard plastic liner? I have an older Concept belt and when the liner started cracking I chipped of as much as I could then sanded the inside with 800/1000/1500 grit sandpaper then crocus cloth. It wasn't easy and isn't a mirror polish, but it worked.
My belt has the Neoprene liner. I need it replaced as it has all fallen apart from wear. I have never heard of "bisonkit" glue. I am willing to try anything so I get the liner replaced so I can wear the belt again. Thanks
The liner should be available at Home Depot, just need to find one of similar thickness and flexibility.
Try thick superglue, although the best option is 3M Neoprene High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 1300 but it is quite expensive for only one use case.
Ah, the padding part. It was a while ago, but I replaced it with food-grade polyethylene foam. Like this- https://www.mcmaster.com/8722K26-8722K261/ Haven't had any skin reactions to it, although it does hold some water so good drying is essential.
The foam I used is self-adhesive and sticks rather well (no problems since I put it on but I don't wear the belt constantly). If it wasn't, "contact cement" would have been my choice- can be difficult to work with but is usually good on non-porous surfaces. Regards neoprene- the poly has been better for my skin; the original neoprene causied irritation which is why I changed. "Food grade" means it's generally going to be less reactive.
