I know that a variant of this short cage exists but with two horizontal bars like this one has. Basically I want the shorter cage without the extra ring but I want it to still have the vertical bars, so the gaps are smaller, making it more comfortable to wear. I've seen different pictures of that cage in action, so I know it must be sold somewhere, I just can't seem to find it on any store website. Right now I have the one from the second link bent together but the shorter version without the additional ring would be just perfect. Any help finding a link on DHgate (or somewhere else that ships internationally) would be much appreciated. Thinking about it, it would be even better if there was a version of this with a hinged ring, but I don't think that combination exists.

I have the same one as your second link. After using for long time I started feeling it as a bigger one. So just a couple of days back I modified it. Pressed the cage so that the additional ring touches the base ring and also compressed the bars closer. Actual pic after modification
If you want a high quality cage and don’t mind spending the money contact Mature Metal. I’m sure they can make what you want. But it won’t be like those cheap Chinese cages.
