    Searching this site hasn't produced much info on bidets...........but I'm thinking they might be an effective device for good hygiene that might make longer lockups easier. Can anyone confirm this or recommend one?

    I've been in Morocco and Egypt a lot in the last 6 months and very toilet has a bidet upgrade. They also have an adjustable sprayer that hangs on the wall next to toilet and I have really got spoiled to them. It's really nice to have a fresh washed feeling any time you use the restroom. I really wish they would catch on more in the US. Immdefinately going to get one for my home!

    Check out the many options from Toto.
    They do require ac power however.

    I would love to have a bidet! I tried one out at a rich friend's house a few weeks ago and love the clean feeling that resulted. After becoming accustomed to sitting down to pee, this seems the next logical step! I hope that when we build our next house, we will be able to include a bidet.

    Toto has options that turn your existing toilet into a very functional bidet.

    You are correct in that I see very few existing bathrooms with an outlet handy.
    GFCI plugs are now in standard usage around water environment locations.

    Would be very handy. I have to admit to getting a bit over paranoid with regard the smell of wee. It would be great to be fully confident
    after I had done my business. If they had them in work that would be even handier.

    I do have a bidet and use it to clean my MM cage a couple of times a day, eg, to get rid of any dry skin before I go for a run which helps stop any chaffing. Ours was a standard model from the BathStore. Downside is that it makes wearing the device long-term too easy!

    We have a Toto Washlet and we both LOVE it. We stayed at an upscale hotel that had one and laughed about it until we tried it. Within a week I had one ordered and installed soon afterwards. Luckily on the other side of the toilet wall I had an outlet in the bedroom, so I was able to cut an opening on the bathroom side and install a remodel outlet box and run wiring from the other outlet to the new one in the bathroom.

    I highly recommend it, clean feeling is fantastic, and the "oscillating" option makes me want to get extra clean ;)

    When I was trying to wear a full belt with a cable a bidet was very handy

    We used an bidet attachment like this that goes under the seat

    No power required

    Worked great. Just be ready for the hit of cold water on a cold morning
