    Does the retainer ring help with retraction during exertion, cold periods etc?

    So far yes, but I try to avoid getting too cold.

    How did you go about measuring for the size of the retainer ring? For example, is it the circumference of the area beneath the glans, or does it need to be some amount tighter?

    And have you had any issues with circulation?

    I measured just behind the glans, and made some measuring ring based on that. I selected the snug but not tight fit, and ordered it as well as a size above and below.

    However I can not recommend this way, as I am struggling with the retainer rings. See my next post in a minute…

    Just a quick update on my new cage, while I love the look and feel of it, I am having issues with the retainer ring.

    I do have foreskin and that might be part of the issue, sometimes everything is aligned correctly when putting it on and I have no issues at all. Other times I do get discomfort, last time it happened I had to take a 4 day break. Right now it feels like a 50/50 chance when putting it on, and I do not think I am improving the odds with practice, and I cannot evaluate if there are any issues right away.

    I have only tried to sleep in it a few times, the retainer ring really causes some discomfort when getting hard at night. After the last attempt I had to take a break the entire next day.

    Right now I am quite fustrated about it, I think I should have ordered one without a retainer ring :(

    Could you describe the discomfort in more detail? Is it pinching, circulation, abrasions, etc.? And how significant?

    During the day, if things is not aligned right, it is pinching. One time it left marks due to the pinching.

    During night (or erections that won’t go away) it is more pressure where the ring is, even though it is almost as big as the cage. But it leaves me quite sore afterwards. One time I could not wear it the next day, due to it.

    Not sure it would be compatible with all the sports that I am doing, either way it can not happen now, 6 weeks with no swimming is not a possibility at all.
    I am also concerned about how peeing during long endurance events would work if pierced, when things need to go fast!

    That’s partly why I got a fenum instead ( not that I swim much - do row and run quite a bit - but not like you do !).

    it’s working well with my modified titanium ba-28 - I have a sideways fenum so it works perfectly - even when exercising. Just got out of the device after one complete month locked up 24/7 (long story - involving an argument with my wife/keyholder)

    it’s not - I promise… basically we had an argument, stuff was said by me, however I had been wearing the cage for a week at this stage. She took the emergency key from the safe, my cage is a titanium ba-28 secured on my piercing.. no exit at all for an entire MONTH, only regular tease sessions - I ended up in tears on more than one occasion.

    I am not going to make the mistake of doing that again.

    As I would prefer not to get pierced, I feel somewhat obligated to at least try a glans ring before moving on to more permanent methods.

    I know you're probably past this topic, since you said you did not feel like trying the cage again. However, I am curious about your experience with hygiene / urination.

    You mentioned hygiene was not great, but did not go into much detail.

    I am trying to decide between a more open design (e.g. BA-25) and a closed design (e.g. BA-31). My concern with the open design is that it would allow manipulation of the glans ring, and be in other ways less secure. However, my concern with the closed design would be hygiene. Specifically, it seems like it would be difficult to line up the urethra for urination, since there is no way to manipulate the penis from the outside.

    Do you have any input on this?
