Activity By Ignored Users Should Not Appear In Alerts

    Simply that. If I am ignoring a member, threads they start, posts they make, etc. should not appear in my alert list.

    The alert system is broken. Plenty of threads I follow don't alert me when there is a new post. I don't think Lucy can do anything about it.

    Considering how well run this site is overall, I think I could handle such small glitches. Maybe if you asked nicely, they might try to fix it in a more timely manner.

    on Fetlife there's plenty of idiots you'd want to ignore, but it feels different here. There's people I've disagreed with, but even then I wouldn't actively want to block them.

    I expect some of our female members have been subjected to more intense pressure, though, and may need to be able to effectively block people.

    I typically only block people who fall into one of two categories: 1) those who post content that seems hazardous with respect to age issues, and 2) those who either troll, or seem to be repeatedly only looking for attention.

    That's all.

    Right. I am not blaming Lucy or others who maintain the site. I am simply raising the point that it is broken, and perhaps a bug report could be sent upstream.

    Indeed. I was thinking more of them being pestered than pressured, with lots of unwanted private messages etc. As Miss Lucy's journal thread demonstrates, they have to deal with a lot of intolerable rubbish.
