A slightly different look at Porn Expectation In 1953 Playboy first hit the shelves in the US it sold out unsurprising as the front cover and centerfold shots were all Marilyn Munroe. In the UK when I was a kid and doing a paper-round there were two houses that recieved the same thing hidden inside their newspaper. Once a month they used to get a magazine called Parade it would be in brown paper bag, they were then kept under the counter at the newsagents. The magazine comprised of articles which I'm sure were never meant to be read and every other page had a photograph of a young or youngish female model who would be naked except for anywhere that would now be covered by a g-string was never on show. Usually either panties or more rarely just by camera angle. The photos were all black and white. The centrefold would be a two page spread and occassionally in colour. Sometimes a woman would be photographed full frontal but either an object woul discretely hide her pubic area or her pubic hair would be so abundant Tarzan would have got lost in there. In 1970 we had the daily newspaper The Sun start its long association with the page 3 girls. Same sort of pictures as were in Parade but in a national newspaer just one of them and always on page 3. I t was the Daily and Sunday Sport that started putting the same shots on the front cover sometimes only star printed over nipples genitals or anus. This was on the Front cover in no time from little underwear and nudity they moved to SM gear. 'Mens mags' had long since moved from under the counter and eventually legislation forced it up to the top shelf. These newspaers were placed at foot level, even the smallest child could clearly see it all. In 1973 a kid at school brough one of his dad's swedish mags to school, colour porn, full on porn naked women and men genitals, cum shots fellatio. (never cunnilingus.) We were literally fighting each other to get a look at it, new in colour and showed what we thought was everything you could think of in one magazine. Porn films were on 35mm film you needed a projector and a darked room to view it in the seedy raincoat brigade clubs in Soho London. By todays standard or lack of it dependent on your view point it was pretty tame stuff. Now you can switch on your computer and for no charge you can view almost anything you can imagine. Kiddie and underage stuff thankfully rightfully remains illegal and bestiality isa grey area but its all on there. Extreme S&M stuff, simulated (if not actual) rape, degredation of both sexes by people of either sex. Same sex porn transgender type porn has become widespread, chicks with dicks stuff everywhere, even chastity and denial stuff. A lot of the amatuer stuff is genuine, real ordinary people really doing things for pleasure. The professional stuff presented better idealised looking people mostly faking it for money. As an over 18 adult I should have the right to choose what and when I watch waht ever I choose .. of course with obvious exceptions kids and snuff etc. I may not have the right legally to see everything some would be surprised to hear, but I can if I want to look for it and all without needing to subscribe. My question is though given the rate of progression from the first 'dirty postcards' to full on anal fisting where will it end .. what new thing what shocking exclusive can the factions of the porn industry come up with next. Long winded to make my point sorry ... but :- Is porn overtaking itself by becoming mainstream ( and mostly garbage) and freely available, is the bottom about to fall out of the porn industry? Making it no longer economically viable to produce. Will it through its progression and modern day content just fall into disuse? Or at least lose its popularity? Arguably a good thing but it makes you wonder .. well it does me. A lot of IT development has been fuelled by the porn industry but apart form that and keeping a few pervs off the streets has it actually done any good, apart from making some people aware of where some bits actually are, what and where to look for them, and some of the possibilities?
I’m sorry but porn is safe from extinction. However it will evolve like everything else. The future probably will rely more on technology, interactive, even artificial intelligence. Some might think that is a lot of technology and research for getting off...the truth is, that porn is a cash cow, and research and development will always be available and utililized. Reality tv was a big hit, I see it playing out in porn. Paying money to be involved in the day to day activities of sexually promiscuous attractive people living together etc. Fly on the wall kind of stuff. Look in cams, interactive cams, voting on activities, you name it. As long as people are lonely and not being sexually fulfilled, there is a market for it. As far as being desensitized, yes that happens with each new medium. When the internet first made its way, it was like a kid in a candy store. Now younger people take it for granted and just don’t look. My brother is 12 years younger and the internet (porn included) is just the norm. I am still amazed that you can look up anything and get a free video of whatever you want to see. Where I would spend all day frantically looking at images, he would be bored with it in 10 minutes. I think we have actually hit the limit on gross and shocking though. Four words for you...two girls one cup...enough said. If you are not familiar with this video I won’t bother u with its content, let’s just say it is the grossest thing ever. So although we have maxed out on that, how we get and interact with it will always change with us and our technology.
