If a locked sub goes AWOL and you have no contact, how much time do you give him before throwing his key away? I don't like having anything useless around the house, even if it's only a tiny key to a tiny cock.
Normally I will have asked what is the longest they have locked for before. Once you get past that you will probably be safe to dispose of the key.
He still needs to know you are in control. Message him stating that he is on a three strike system. You will give him three chances to get in touch over the next week, you will contact him for example; once on Monday, once on Wednesday and once on Friday (if needed). You make it clear to him that if he has not responded by your third message, you will dispose of his key. If he wants you to continue your role in his life, I’m sure he will reply.
As far as I have seen the keyholder requires daily / weekly contact email or text. So if he breaks the agreed contact I would say 3 days.
Without being a KH, I do not think there is a golden rule about it. Depends on each KH, of her rules and contract or agreement that they have.
Depends on the relationship, usually when everything is going well and for some days there is no contact, maybe something has happened on his side, a little of patience does no harm. But when there's silence and no more contact, three days for a warning, 24 hours for a goodbye and a key is going down to the waste.
Has anyone considered an emergency? What if he isn’t well or incapacitated? There seems to be an awful lot of jumping to conclusions here. Do we not think a bit more information is required here? For instance has he done this before? Has he shown any signs of reluctance before? Does he have an emergency key and mightvhe have used it?
i definitely would not get rid of the key till you have had some communication to find out why he has broken it off.
