I was wondering what peoples experiences are with the differences between the versitile plastic that you might get from Shapeways vs surgical nylon like you might get with a customchastity.com device. They both have an eggshell finish from what I understand.

I received my custom chastity device last week. So far it’s not working for me, the eggshell finish keeps it in the same spot, but I’m finding it uncomfortable compared to the smoothness of steel. I’m wondering with some fine sanding I might be able to get it smoother.

Both use Nylon PA12, so there's no difference.

Custom Chastity talks about 2200PA, but that's the powder that forms Polyamide (PA!) 12. Google "surgical nylon" - you'll find a bunch of information about sutures and other stuff, but not easily a material type. It's marketing to make people believe it's special, but it's nothing different than what everyone doing SLS 3D printing, including Shapeways, are using.

Thank you for clearing that up!
