Did a search didn't find anything. So sorry if this horse has been beaten down so much its rocking in the corner.

What are YOUR preferences and why.

    internal lock.
Me personally I got hard watching her turn the key and taking it out.
    Knowing its now hers !!
I can't wait to see her snap a padlock shut and hearing the click of the hasp .
    But that will be awhile

I prefer an internal barrel lock. There is nothing sexy about a screw/torx bit and the amount of time required to thread/unthread is annoying.

As per my Madams request, my custom 3D print device has a double lock design, so I have a internal lock and a padlock, so the outline shows through my underwear. And I still have the click of the lock moving against the device to.

My full belt has a proper padlock with a shrouded shackle so there is no way out with bolt cutters. I like the feeling of security.

For ball trapper or tube only devices, I'm not sure it is possible to make a security screw which really could not be defeated, given a reasonably well equipped workshop, although some of the deigns do look really difficult.

The small padlocks with the shackle exposed would be far too vulnerable to bolt cutters. I would prefer a magic locker. I don't think it would be too difficult to escape, particularly if the lock is not fully enclosed but not without destroying the lock. Also they really need to be modified to make them much more difficult to pick. Also I would want to use the hollow Burg Wachter one. That way, a wire seal can be passed through the lock so that any tampering would be detected.

I agree that turning the key and see it withdrawn is exciting. My K/H lets me use a screw on Her Mini Jailbird because it is easier for me to wear daily. When we are around the house She likes the look of a padlock, being able to see the lock keeping me contained and secure.

I did the first vote for a security tag. It is stealthy and not fiddly.

    Internal Barrel Lock

Screw types are off the list, I have almost every tool made and all types of torque head sockets to take a small bridge apart. It would be too easy to beat and wife does like wearing my key around her neck, would not be as sexy with a socket on a chain.

Had a device requiring a padlock, easily picked and could be cut off too easily and replaced with another.

the internal barrel lock is the best, never was able to pick it and one time I tried, broke off a pick in the lock. When my wife tried to let me out for some play time and I finally admitted what I did, she left me that way for another 60 days. At that point it was the longest lockup, previous 14 days locked, another 60 days punishment, and another 10 days before we came up with a plan after practicing out options.

Finally, we lowered my vice onto a portable work bench, tightened the head of the cage and my cock into the vice, and then mt sweet wife drilled out the lock. In fact she did so good, the cage was not damaged (except for a few scratches from the vice) and the back up lock went right in and worked. So she added another day before she let me out for play.

There has also been a few times where either the lock was damaged or she broke the key and it had to be drilled out again. She has became quite the expert and has performed the lock surgery on 2 friend of our when their lock broke.

The barrel lock is really annoying when it’s protrudes slightly from the cage. There’s nothing like a scratch or two to really kill the mood.

The security screw seems like an advancement but it also kills the mood as you fiddle away before release.

I couldn’t imagine anything worse than an abus lock hanging from my cage. Clunking away in its blatant unsophistication….

We use the security screw. Mainly because our playtime is mostly confined within the cage, but ultimately they are all flawed.

I use the padlock on a CB-6000. The snap of the lock lets both Me and husband know that I am in Control, now.. I love the sound of the snapping lock.

I had husband use one of his really small drill thingies. it's something he has to turn with his fingers, I had him drill a hole in one of the guide pins for seal, if I decide to use one. There's another cage I use on him that looks a lot a CB-6000. It has flatter guide pins, so I had him drill holes in them, too. He can drill holes big enough to fit locks, so now I can put 3 locks on him. I just love seeing My Property with ll those locks on it.

This cage has some zapper thingys on the sides of the cage. So when I sit him in the Perilous Chair (that's what husband calls it) and restrain him for Penis and Testicle Discipline., once I turn on the zapper, I love the sound of the clicky-clattery of 3 locks while he's squirming. (and begging). Well, gee, if he wouldn't disobey me and play with My Property without My Permission, he might not have to get disciplined, would he?

Security screw. My wife isn’t a huge fan of the additional time it takes to unlock me but she prefers it due to how discreet it is considering I spend almost all of my time in it. I can go to work, go swimming and even walk around in my underwear without issue. She also likes when she’s locking me back up and will slowly tighten it in order to prolong the inevitable.

Locks are a cakewalk to pick. Screws seem much harder to escape from. Security tags are great for low-security/high-accountability, but I prefer not having the option of unlocking.

Nothing secure about security screws. You can buy what ever screw head type bit off ebay/amazon/alliexpress. I have heaps of different types for electronics.

Too easy to get around them if using remotely. If you are able to physically check the numbered tag, then yes.

I have the security screw for light weight and a sleek look, but miss seeing the key and her being able to unlock me. Maybe I'll switch back some day?

I like the screw. It's really sleek. It really keeps my MM queens keep from shifting on itself. It really locks it down to the base ring. The pad lock is too bulky and allows the cage to shift on the base ring post. HOWEVER, I am not a fan of how long the screw takes to install or remove.

integral / internal or as some call it magic locker for me
our badass cage has a slightly slightly bigger lock than the ones that seem to be in every other cage

although i do think that the clacking padlocks still have their place

Just out of curiosity. The cages that take a screw would it also let a shackle pass through?
Or it have to be drilled out ?

This completely depends on the design of the cage. Mine is locked with a tiny screw, you could drill it through and put a tiny lock on it but it would be so small that it would be worthless and much more clunky.

You can’t buy every type of security screw on “ebay/amazon/alliexpress“. There are several custom cage builders that you can only get the screw keys directly from them. And once properly tightened, your not getting it out without significant damage.

Most of the custom screws are based off of the security Torx design. To defeat you usually just grind off 1 or 2 splines of a standard security Torx and it should work...

I’ve seen some of those. There are others out there that your technique won’t work. You’d need the actual key to open the cage without damaging it.
