    But, on a more serious note, if the new material is indeed this good, it could be a game-changer for shackles as well. Real and inescapable is a great turn on.

    I have some experience with some materials that are nearly impossible cut, but they have issues with being brittle. Even a fairly mild blow from a hammer will fracture them. It's basically an epoxy adhesive mixed with powered aluminum oxide, and when you try to drill or saw it it dulls the cutting edges. I can't tell you how many times I've seen guys try to cast it and then machine it to some high tolerance, and wind up with a dull tool before cutting more than a 1/4 inch. They forget that the grinding wheels in their own shop are usually made out of aluminum oxide, too.
