Hi everyone. I got a cherry keeper recently. One of the reasons was that with the open design, wife doesn't have to unlock me for cleaning. But I find that a urine smell seems to build up. It's now been on for 7 days. I clean in the shower but there still seems to be a smell?

Any hints on how to get rid of the smell without taking it off?

I also have a four-pack of permalockers that my Queen keeps threatening to use!!

I have had one for about a year and wore it 99% of the time. I found no way to keep it clean without removing and scrubbing it. For some reason the plastic absorbs the urine smell. I have since found a Chinese metal cage that fits very well and I can clean up without unlocking, no order issues. Good luck with it. If you find an answer on your own please post it. They are very comfortable cages, but to smelly!

Afraid you can't really keep it clean without removing it! However you could buy another and just swap over, they aren't so expensive. Otherwise it's stainless steel. I do like the Cherry Keeper. I wear it if we are flying and keep it on for our holidays. Can't say it gets smelly but it does get does get stained with urine inside on underside of the cage.

Madam is very strict on hygiene, it is the only reason I get released weekly, so I can have a good wash and shave ect, all parts of my cage are soaked in hot water, with a cap of detol, then rinsed in clean water before being reapplied. Maybe you could soak it in that while your in your metal cage?

I know that shapeways has the option to have something made in steel or aluminum. Possibly @JosieLynn Jewell can make those options available? Platinum is even available. It was only $22,000 for a cage that I designed :)

I dont know if anyone has ever tried using shapeways metal 3d printing for a chastity cage, so I can't say if it is even a possibility.

I hope Shapeways will make the PA12 Smooth material available on the marketplace soon! It's black only, but the surface is 100% sealed, which should help you with your concern. It's also not cheap...

Before that, I simply scrubbed the cage down in the shower each morning during my normal routine, and odor never got too bad, but I realize everyone is different.

I'm still trying to find a home sealing solution, and have had some promising results, but need to still figure out coloring and sealing combined - I think I know where it's failed, but haven't had a chance to test that theory yet.

Thanks for the replies. I'm doing my best to wash thoroughly in the shower. It helps a lot. I'm thinking of using a baking soda paste to see if that cuts the smell. I'll try tonight and let you know.

If the schedule stays, I'm out in 2 days but you never know. My wife almost put in the permalocker two days ago. I need to sort out hygeine in case that happens.

Try using a shaving cream brush lathered with non cented soap, I've found it works well with a steel knockoff I use.

    Definitely considering a cherry Keeper.

Someone mentioned getting a second device and simply trading out weekly while the 'dirty' one is cleaning. They are so inexpensive it really is an option. Besides, you need to trim/shave/depilate weekly anyway. Takes mere minutes in the shower. Between shavings, use the shower head on 'jet' and rinse that guy clean. Also, help out a bit with dabbing dry after urinating. A small wad of TP works great and really cuts down on mess/odor. Good luck.

@JosieLynn Jewell Have you found a good solution for sealing a Cherry Keeper cage?

Seems like a quick rinse with distilled white vinegar does the trick to remove the urine smell. Works for my cats too lol.

There's a few vendors who offer post-processing of 3D prints, including sealing prints. AMT BLAST! being the process that Shapeways uses. There's another vendor called "Dye Mansion" that I've read up on, but have not contacted yet.

Overdyeing works to an extent, and if it's not dyed, a solution of CA glue in acetone has yielded some promising results.

Puzzlers recommend floor polish for sealing their 3D printed pieces - I haven't tried it though.

Ive used a shaving brush with plenty of soap to wash all the knooks and crannies of my small cage and it works. I've yet to try a cherry keeper but it might work and they are cheap. 41I4HxRDOzL._AC_SY400_.jpg

@JosieLynn Jewell have there been any updates on sealing? Not sure the premium line of plastic would work. Just looking for new options without the metal route. Xoxo

I find a good scrub in the shower keeps it manageable. Although i do a more thorough clean when i do remove it. One thing i make sure to do, is align little pee hole with opening so i keep most urine off the cage. Overall i really love my Cherry Keeper, except when i've had it on too long, lol. But that is a different issue.

I really like rotating my Cherry Keepers. About every two days I take one off, wash up, put a new one on. The "dirty" one gets washed in soap, soaked in hydrogen peroxide, then dried in the sun. Then it's ready for the next wearing.

Something EVERY chastity device wearer should keep in mind: the same urine that soaks into the slightly porous cherry keeper, and rolls off of the steel devices STILL soaks into your skin.

I think of it like changing underwear. I never go without it, but it's always clean.

I put mine in a ultrasound bath for 2 x 8 minutes cycles every week as part of my hygiene routine.

    Totally removes the smell buildup.

I sealed mine with super glue. It requires a fine sanding w 800 after (and you have to be "super" careful with the glue) but seals the pores rather well. Can wear for 2 weeks with no odor now.
