    hello all,

some of you might know the "kitchen safe", which is a plastic container with an electronic lock where you can put things in (like keys to your chastity belt) and set a timer. after the timer is back to zero, that plastic box opens the electronic lock and gives you access. this thing can be set to a maximum amount of ten days.

for those, who dont want to spend the money for the "kitchen safe", there are apps for smartphones (iphone) too. i found two apps which are called "ichronfess" and "hatch".

for "ichronfess" there is already a post somewhere in this forum. i for myself are somehow confused by that app. it is available for free and for money too. the free version is already a bit complicated to use, but basically you can take pictures of a combination lock, encrypt that for a wanted time and send it to someone or to yourself. when that time passed, you can decrypt that picture again and take a look at it, to open the combination lock.

the app which is called "hatch" is more straight-forward. it does the same and lets you take pictures or record videos. those are then encrypted by a randomized timer or a given time up to thirteen month and also sent to someone who uses the same app, or yourself. it shows you how long you have to wait until you can decrypt that picture again. and it also doesnt store the picture you made on your smartphone, so you cant check it in the meantime.

is anyone of you using apps like that?
do you probably know more apps like that?
what is your experience with those apps?

i am interested in your experiences...

    lots of greetings,
    smb

those apps are made for iphones only. they sort of work on ipads too, but they are ment to run on iphones.

"ichronfess" is still using a very old development kit from apple and hasnt adapted to the newer look and feel. therefor commercials are almost in the middle of the screen and it is difficult to hit buttons.
    "hatch" however is working fine.

do you know similar apps for android?

there is another app for apple devices which i have found - "timeappsule", but it is somehow not good at all:
that app is just way too fancy and not very usable.

so from all the experiences i made, "hatch" is the most easy to use application which somehow seems to be made for exactly that purpose which lots of us can use :)

what i couldn't try is, to send "hatch" messages to someone else to find out, if they are hidden for both people or only the recipient. for that i would need someone who is having / using the "hatch" application too...

I assume you take the pictures with your eyes shut and have to delete them without peeking.
Also scramble the lock before and after without looking.

That must create some interesting situation lol.

it is easier than you might think, wendy.

you just have to position your mobile phone in front of the lock you want to scramble and make sure it is fully on focus (if not, it will lead to your mentioned "interesting situations").

then you look away, scramble the lock, press a button of your mobile phone to take the picture (which is then already hidden away and also not saved so there is no need to delete anything), use the lock and scramble it again. done.

easiest way is to send yourself the picture of the combination with a given time which you can set (or randomize). more fun might be to send that picture to someone else, also after a given time. and then wait if you might get it back...

are you fine with that app, zebra?

i for myself find it way too complicated. wasting a lot of time to choose fancy stuff which is not needed. it also doesn't provide a randomize function which can be adventurous too.
and as far as i can remember, every message you sent to yourself can already be seen. because the sender always keeps those messages.

for "hatch", that is not the case and therefor better in my point of view...

Still looking for a simple key (or anything else) locking app... Hatch doesn't support notes, which is sad, because a 12 digit number would be all I want. iChronfess is buggy. And TimeAppsule opens locked time capsules from the sent folder.

It could be so simple... Generate a random 4-12 digit number, display it. Set a maximum duration for a random date or enter a specific time. Lock it. Unlock it at the date. This should work for everybody except for the 0.2 percent of us who can memorize a number with one short sight. (I totally made that up, that 0.2 percent).

What do you think? Should the CM community start a crowd-funding campaign for the development of such an app? The crowd-funding of the kitchen safe 2.0 was very successful even if they cancelled the development of it.

There is an encryption site http://www.tellyoulater.com/ on which you can upload a string of characters and encrypt it for a given time. I've been doing like this:
    1. Put your key in a hand-made box locked with four-digit padlock, then lock it.
    2. Take a photo of the padlock but don't look on the digits nor on the photo. Then randomize digits on the padlock so you don't know the right combination.
    3. Archive taken picture with e. g. winrar using randomly written password. Just press some random keys and get some like this: wv3;-]4tvr=w-[
    4. Copy the password on the mentioned site and encrypt it.
    5. After given time you have the password, so you can unrar the archive and get the number form the picture.

Time to bring this up again... Since my wife is away for three days and I might need some... Well long story short: I looked for another Time-Lock-App for my ordinary electronic safe:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iron-will/id1102546976?mt=8
And there's an Android version as well:
    http://www.tapanappasystems.com
It's a bit buggy (connects only to the time server on the second try) and it's UI could use some improvements. But it seems to work. So, happy self-locking!

i am still quite happy with the "hatch" app for ios.
it does all the things which i need.

when i scramble the combination of the lock box and taking a picture, i am so distracted already by selecting a time when i will be able to see the picture again, that i forget the combination.

    @Vidar M
hatch supports notes too. when you select just "any" picture and you have selected a time frame, in the last step you can enter a note. one field for a title and the other field for a complete note. there you could store your digit number if you want.

Have any of you heard of chastikey? That’s by far the most easy to use. App for both iPhone & Android.

For Android I use the app "Time Lock for Images". It is free and works perfectly for self-locking. I use a lock that I can set a 4-digit combination without looking, then with Time Lock for Images I take a picture of it. It is easy to look away while taking the picture, and then as soon as you shoot the picture the next screen is small enough that you can't read the combination and it analyzes how sharp the picture is. If it's less than 80% I re-take and have never had a problem. You then set a starting time from 1 minute all the way up to 999 days. As soon as you hit save, you can't see the picture until time's up. Without looking at the combination, I then use that lock to lock my chastity keys in a metal toolbox. There are options for random time and you can also add time. It connects to time servers on the internet so you can't cheat.

I am using Chastikey on my iPhone. It is a Vera version so it need to be run through Test Flight buy I like it. It works on Android as a full version. It works by using a set time period, or you can turn it into a game of chance and have a bunch of red and green cards to flip over and try to get enough green cards for it to show the combination.

Well done and the developer is around on the discord chat a lot.

Been using this app too, great features

Dev is also on this site and listens to all input about it.

Last updates was great feature-wise ... only a little slower on starting up the app.
But the best app I came across so far
