I've been working on some 3d models for chastity devices that can be printed on a 3d printer or through shapeways or similar.
Here's a pic of a recent working model...

    CD.png

This is a pretty slow project (I have a day job), but I've gotten a couple prototypes of the locking mechanism made.
It's evolving, I've made the base ring a little bigger and tried to address some pinching possibilities..
The model is fairly well parameterized, so I can customize the dimensions pretty easily.

I would love to hear feedback or suggestions..
I'd also be interested to hear about experiences and advice on marketing chastity devices..

I'm not sure about the long term wear-ability/durability of many of the 3d printing materials.
The various plastics available at shapeways state that they are not 'food safe', and I'm not sure about the strength/durability.
The metal materials are probably usable, they come out a little rough, but could be ok..
Also not sure if shapeways would let me open a store to sell sexually related models..
they say No sexually explicit content.. are chastity devices explicit?
Once I have a working model, I'll order one and see what they say..

Let me know what you think..
    Thanks

I realize this is just a rendering but am curious as to how you attach the base ring to the cage and where the locking mechanism would go

The locking mechanism will just be on the top of the cage, and then I'll add a bar on the top of the ring that attaches to the locking mechanism.
The Holy Trainer that you're wearing in your avatar seems to have an interesting mechanism..

It has a dovetail joint in the base ring and the sheath has a post that fits in the center. Once the two pieces fit together then the lock cap fits over the post locking them in place.

What kind of materials are you going to use to construct your device?

That's still TBD.. shapeways has a variety of materials: http://www.shapeways.com/materials
The strong flexible plastic and stainless steel are probably the most likely materials.
neither say they are 'food safe' which is a little concerning..

I'd like to invest in a 3d printer and most of those use various ABS and PLA plastics...

There are other places that do prototyping with medical grade plastics, those may be more costly, I need to research them further..

Not yet, I'm still refining the locking mechanism... and it's a slow process, 1-2 week turnaround time..
It will be a while before I have something ready for printing...

WOW, never seen 3D printing, not even sure what it is but if this is achievable then you could make you own cage to your own spec

How do you make it smooth? With my understanding of 3D printing I thought you were left with a fairly rough finish which would need to be sanded.

I was very skeptical about the rough finish too. The acetone vapor treatment seems like a great idea to solve that problem.

Some of the thinner parts in the design look fragile, but I'm not an expert in 3D printing so take that with a grain of salt. I could imagine the acetone eats a little bit of the material away (or at least disperses it) to other areas.

Interesting thread! I've been thinking along the same lines myself, firstly just to print improved parts to add to the CB6000S.

I have the HolyTrainer and I'm pretty convinced that's actually a 3d printed device. I'm sure that printed objects have come along way in terms of quality and durability looking at some of the precision things now being printed. I'm sure a printed chastity device would be more than workable.

FINALLY someone using maker bots to create what I have been dreaming about since the darn things showed up at Noise Bridge.

I am also very interested in using their 3D scanning technology to create "ultra custom" fits.

Thankfully the stereo lithography printers are finally getting into consumer's hands. I don't think I would ever use a Makerbot or any other extrusion based printer for this due to the final product that comes from them. Stereo lithography however seems to be making huge strides into the strong (100% infill), with a smoother finish, and less lateral weakness. Certainly a much better method for something like a delta robot for sure. Hoping to put one together here in the next few months, and mess around with it.

Hi guys I love this thread.
What about split the cage down the middle and put teeth inside to grip the penis shaft when it is closed.
    About the material.
I thought you were going to send it off to get it transferred from plastic to polished steel or chrome.

    I am intrigued.
Supposedly in the non too distant future you will be able to scan your penis and have a custom fit CB made in plastic make the necessary tweaks to get it just right then produce one in stainless steel.

Once the printing process is perfected and speeded up one could presumably have a steel one assembled in situe. No locks needed no joints just built on and it would be so expensive you could not afford to cut it off.

Isn't science wonderful. Or maybe not :)

This would be so cool! Just make a 3D scan of my subs penis, design the cage according to those exact measurements. Shrink the design down a few percent ;) And the perfect fitting cage!

Hope this will be reality soon!

hello I was reading this old thread about 3D printing male chastity belts and I see that the last entry was on the 22 December 2013, and I was just wondering what ever happened with this device, and have any one any different ideas about making one.?

I recently acquired a 3d printer and would love to print out a prototype for you,

    please contact me.

what about the idea of a disposable chastity device. Would that give more security, and possibly more fun for couples starting out. Using zip lock ties type of fastner.

Hi! I am looking for a 3d file for a tube only (no ring) for frenum pierced penis...!
