I just got my CB 6000 this weekend and have not had many problems finding the right fit, but one problem I have is that I'm constantly getting skin stuck in the groove on the ring and it hurts like hell. Is this something that a lot of people go through when first starting and does it get better? Or is there some way to prevent this from happening?
Are you talking about the gap at the top between the two peices held together with the pins? That is the only grooves mine has.
I had the same problem and ended up getting chewed up pretty bad by it. I've had to take a break from wearing it, but I'd like to get back into it. I'm interested in hearing answers too.
I think you may have purchased a copy. The CB rings have no groove on them anymore, but perhaps it could be used as a little reminder to you of your inferior position.LOL
Having tried all the different types of plastic and silicon devices I went to Mature Metal and got the perfect solution .. all metal! Don't waste your money on cheap devices .. save up your cash and go for the best - I think we'd all agree there!
Unfortunately I have also bought this chinese copy and have exactly the same problem, sking always sticks into the groove in the ring and it hurts like hell. Have anyone any idea how to fix this ? For example fill the groove with some kind of glue and make it round, or something.....thanks for any advice.
When I purchased a conterfit 6k I filled in the groove in the rings with 2 part epoxy. After filling them In I sanded them down. Not that I find my self in metal I no longer have to worry about the cheap rings.
I'm having the same problem. And it's horrible because my keyholder is only meeting with me for the second time ever tomorrow, no idea when I can get out. I can sort of move my sac around a bit to give the sore skin relief but it's never COMFY. I wish I could afford the real stuff, or really a metal cage, but I'm unemployed :/
Like I said, the best thing that I found was to get authentic rings from A.L.E. Inc. http://cb-x.com/cb6k3.html
A little late to the party, but I thought I'd post my solution here for the next person who comes looking. In both my real and fake CB6ks (first one kept splitting and I had superglue all over it, so when the pin broke I opted for a "new" one instead of just buying the parts, then realized it was fake) I had problems with swelling between the cage and ring. I measured the gap with the spacer present and then found some plastic tubing that had the same OD (outside dimension) as the gap, lined it up with the arc of the cage and marked where the holes were, then drilled through the tubing. There was a little more resistance pulling the parts together, but it worked well and never had a swelling issue there again. Oh, I did have to sand/cut the ends of the tubing a bit so that they wouldn't dig in.
