One thing that I have noticed, is that this is somewhat of a progressive fetish "family" so to speak. For instance, chastity leads to feminization which leads to cuckolding although the starting, mid, and end points can be any one of the three in no particular order.

Seeing that you are doing research for a thesis prompted me to do a little readng around of my own. I have found that other than the pschological reasons (the head fuck) about which much has been written both on here and elsewhere for getting involved with male chasity there are some really solid chemical or hormonal reasons why some of us want our partners to deny us. Dopamine, Prolactin and Oxytocinare the hormones responsible; they are respectively the causes of our feelings of elation, the need to be close and he cause of our feeling 'down' post orgasm. Through reading various articles on these in relation to TTTWD I have a far better understanding, by no means complete, of why I want to be locked and have my own orgasms denied whilst I take my pleasure from giving my partner all the attention she wants. There has been much written on these three hormones which I won't go into, others have already done so far more elequently than I ever could. I have found much of what I have read to be very easy to identify in myself and extremely informative. I can understand much better why some people crave long term and even permenent denial now. In fact I think could be far more open to trying some much longer periods of denial as part of our play. I understand much better too why T&D is so important too; as it builds up not only the dopine level but over time those elevated levels encourage the production of more receptors. In brief the kick can get increasingly better as time goes on if both partners are prepared to put a little effort in. I did know this but now I have a much better understanding of why. I would recommend reading a little about these to anyone that is not worried that unravelling a little of the mystery will dilute their pleasure. I'm quite serious about the latter. If you know how a magic trick works you may still appreciate the skill of the practictioner and the possibly power of the illusion but no longer will you be be awe of the magic. So do think about this before you read too much.
