Hi! Decided to try an official Holy Trainer v5, ordered it from the company directly. It arrived today, but unfortunately the lock doesn't seem to work. Connected the ring and shaft to test it before wearing, and while the lock clicked correctly, it now cannot be unlocked. I've tried WD40, jiggling it a bit, etc, but no luck.

One thing I did notice, the lock has a tiny "012" etched into it, while the keys both say "010". I'm starting to think they may have shipped the wrong keys entirely. Anyone know if those numbers are supposed to match?

Kinda bummed since I assume they'll ask me to ship the device back to Switzerland, verify the return, then slowly send a new one leaving me without a good device for months.

I would contact HT directly, mismatched numbers probably means you received the incorrect key.

The Lock Picking Lawyer on YouTube can show you how to pick the lock if you want to open it before the new key arrives.

That's disappointing. I wear HTV5 knockoffs from China and I've been considering splurging on one of the real ones that cost 10x as much. I wish they had a customization option though. Neither standard nor small are quite right for me.

I had a couple of Holy Trainer knock-offs years ago and just didn't like them. Today, I think Kink3D is the best choice among relatively inexpensive devices. Unless you have some odd fitment requirements, then the Cherry Keeper.

Ha, nice. Good thing you tried and made sure it all worked before putting it on. Or else you could've been really in for it. Especially if the device turned out to be uncomfortable

You should be able to pick the lock with a paper clip, especially if they've given you a cheap one that only has one pin.

For the time it'll take to get it replaced and the cost of a small lock I'd just take the hit and replace the lock myself.

(and keep the lock without a key for when you want to have a reckless moment in the future! o_O:+1:)

The V5 uses a cylinder lock built into the base ring. Difficult but not impossible to pick, not happening with a paper clip though.

I'd contact Holy Trainer and explain the situation, they'll probably just send the right keys asap.

... unless they read this forum, in which case you'll get a paper clip with "012" stamped on it.

Try searching for this, a couple of other users have had issues with the locks breaking recently.
