I recently bought a cobra and noticed the lock is on the other side. As in from my point of view I put the key in from the left.

Not a big deal but it made me think that the majority of people are right handed so is this cage consciously designed with the key holder as the primary user? because to them it would be locked using the right hand. I'm not explaining this well but thought it was interesting.

Bloody right-handers complaining about a left-handed cage! Outrageous! The whole world is set up for you people and we get one small win, and you're all up in arms about it! Unbelievable! I have to use my right hand for my cage, and you don't see me complaining! ;):D

About 10% of people are left-handed but it is different around the world. Only 3.5% of Chinese, 13% of Americans

Being armless I am of course neither right-handed nor left-handed.
I am right-footed, but it doesn´t matter because I can´t reach the lock with my toes no matter which side the lock is placed

My rigid chastity is left sided as well, I had always assumed it was because you needed your dominant hand to keep everything in line while you stick lock back in. I had never thought about the keyholder operating it.

Maybe it’s because mine just hands me the key to get everything off

I have to disagree with you in a positive manner. I think that you have explained it well enough and YES I think that right handed keyholders will benefit from this.

I can't remember where I saw the explanation but I recall reading somewhere that Cobra had opposite side lock specifically for keyholder. Being that most people are right handed keyholder would have better access from that side. Done intentionally is what I'm getting at.

Well I'm screwed. Mine is on my right and her left. I'm left-handed and she's right-handed...

Neither of us can unlock it at all... Where was the warning label when our ambidextrous cage fitter locked me up! That's the last time I'm shopping in Tesco!

I have had my sub-hubby in several cages in recent years, as I have downsized them due to his shrinkage with 24/7 chastity. I must admit I never paid much attention to which side the locks were on. But in thinking about it, I believe all of them have been on his left, my right.

In any case, it does not really matter for a sub kept locked up by his keyholder. He has no reason to ever unlock his own cage, so who cares which side the lock is on?

My MM Jailbird used the security screw and was countersunk….with the screw on the right side from the wearer’s (my) perspective. My wife/KH always had trouble with it.
My Steelworx Looker 1 is keyed to my left side, so her right side and she finds that so much easier.

Maybe makers should offer a choice at time of purchase to suit both “handed” people as well as those who lock/unlock their own cage and others whose KH does it.

Though this might be a case where you can’t please everyone all the time.:) My KH makes me put the cage on myself put insists that only she removes it.

I also tried this cage, I found that the connection between the cage and the basic ring is not very coordinated, the connection hole seems to be very small, it is difficult to connect with the cage smoothly

Everybody places their computer mouse on the right side, I learned to use my right hand for computer mouse. Maybe that’s why I need a cage — if I had learned to use a mouse with my dominant left hand I couldn’t use the computer and stroke at the same time.

my Lori cage has the screw hole on the right. It is a little harder to get good pressure to tighten it.

I've had cages with the lock on either side, I prefer it on the right side (as I am a rightie) but it doesn't bother me too much either way.

This might cheer you up Jay, all right handed British guys who drive manual shift cars are having to use their left hand for what should be a right handed function. When I moved to the States I think switching to the other side was made easier by the fact that I could now shift gears with my right hand.

Not really ;) I'm off to Crete and will be driving on the right in a left-hand drive car with the gearstick on the right. It's a complete misnomer! How is it that they name it a "left-hand" car, which purposely has the gearstick on the right, which is highly inconvenient for us left-handers. It's a right-handed conspiracy I tells yer!!! Just like those pens on a cord you used to get when we still had banks!
