Hello all. I have searched the forums but was unable to find any references to this subject. I am looking for a kink-friendly MD in South Florida. I looked at the "KAP" list but it was pretty much limited to mental health and a few specialists. Perhaps we could create a list of our own here on CM?

I was worried about doctors also because I am never unlocked unless with my wife. It turned out that while she thinks I am probably not all sane , her professional responsibilities, and US privacy law, keeps her from telling anyone that I am in a chastity device. I was only asked if I wanted her to report it and get the authorities to have it taken off. By the way, all healthcare workers are governed by the same privacy laws so her nurse is also precluded from mentioning it.

I still blush from embarassment when I have to go to see her though. I always feel like since she and her staff know everyone in the waiting room must know also. I know it is not true but I still get that feeling.

As John said, all medical professionals are governed by the same privacy laws. I changed doctors about 4 years ago. On My inital consultation with him, I laid it all out for him. Mostly I wanted to gauge his reaction before committing to having him as My personal physician. He was very calm and cool with the entire thing and there has never been a problem. tiffy sees the same doctor and there has never been any question as to either of O/our sexual or lifestyle choices. IMO, if you're up front with the doctor, and he or she seems ok with it I would say you have found the physician you want to stay with.

While I've never worn a CB to the doctor's office for a full exam, I have worn it for things like head-colds and such. During my full exams, I don't wear it, but I did give him a heads-up about my piercings before he did my first annual exam post-PA piercing. He took it all in stride, and actually had a look-see to see how it worked. "Oh, it comes out the bottom! I'll bet that hurt!" lol. He had never seen one (which honestly surprised me). I also felt a little awkward the first few times I went after I started shaving my genitals. He has never said anything, and frankly, that's just a cosmetic choice, not a medical one. I'm sure it wouldn't be something he'd bother to comment on.

I guess in my opinion, the only time my doctor wants my underpants off is when he's doing a genital examination, which he does in my annual visit. If I'm going for such an examination, it would be silly to be wearing my device, since it obscures that which he is supposed to be examining for my own health.

I can imagine medical circumstances in which your doctor may have you naked, but not need to examine your genitals, but they are few and far between. So, for the most part, I think wearing your CB to the doctor would be a non-issue.

My personal opinion is that if the device is interfering with the doctor giving me proper medical care or examinations, then the device should come off. If your KH isn't willing to remove it, then your KH is not showing proper consideration for your health, and that's a problem.

As for other things, like tattoos, I consider those cosmetic choices. I don't think you need a kink-aware provider for that. There are some pretty whacky genital tattoos out there, and I'm sure they're not preventing people from going to the doctor when they need to (or at least shouldn't be!)

All the health professionals I've been around are just that professionals. I'd love to find a kinky doctor in Charlotte NC but haven't had any luck. If I ever did have an emergency at least I wouldn't have a catheter put in.
