Jailbird adjustments

I was thinking about getting another device from them for something else, but they would my other device to make sure the rings lines up so they are all modular.

 

That's great! This is why we buy from MM. Yes, they cost a little more but the MM service is awesome!

Hi Guys. This is exactly the thread I was looking for. I was about to post on changing a Jailbird and then came across this.

I have had a Jailbird for years and it is by far the most comfortable. But as you do, you try other cages just to see what they are like. We have a Chinese stainless steel device that I really like as it is small but the connection where the cage connects to the base ring just pinches. That led us to thinking if we could reduce the Jailbird in size so that I got the benefit of the smaller size but kept the comfort of the Mature Metal device.

My initial thought was to have just get a new cage and keep my base ring. MM have said that i just need to return my base ring so they can make the new cage to fit. We didn't really know you could resize and existing cage.

However, just to be clear; you an only change the length of the cage, not the diameter? We were thinking of doing both to make things more snug. Also, with the small lengths and things being squished a little more, have you had any issues with cleaning while the cage is on? The best thing about this cage is that I can wear it for weeks on end and because I have access to the skin it is so easy to keep the boy clean. lol Also, my wife just loves the look of the bars and that she can still see my penis even though it is behind bars! lol

We would really appreciate any feedback you might have.

 

Good news. I find that if I put a bit of carmex on my skin where the base ring sits underneath my balls I get absolutely no rubbing issues. I do this in the morning when I get out of the shower and again at night when I go to bed. So it is not too much of an imposition.

 

Yes, is there anything that Carmex can not do! LOL

What are the specs of your cage? Length, diameter?

hi, Currently, I have a 2 1/2 inch length and 1 3/8 cage diameter. I have ordered a 2 inch length and 1 1/4 inch diameter this time round.

We are looking a a JB, a few things come to mind. I agree with you on length, what can prevent the cage from pulling away, if you double in length, it becomes challenging to keep it close. We need a JB because off-the-shelf cages are typically 1.3 inches diameter which requires a lot of "stuffing". If the cage is wider, that will not by itself stop the pulling away. So here's the issue, if things are about 3 inches small and get to over 7, then that causes an issue with keeping things fitting well. Does anyone have any advice on this?

 

Since you haven't gotten any answers....I'll go.
Use the sizing guides, get the rings. I've had my Jailbird for just about a week and it fits pretty well (maybe a touch too long...still up in the air and will probably post soon asking for recommendations). I do notice that the width being close really keeps things in check. My previous cheap cages, I would experience a lot of ball pain when I got aroused. Now it's more pressure from the cage itself. I think the change is from all sizing factors...base ring, cage width and length.

 

My Jail Bird is likely a 1/4 inch longer than it needs to be, but so far it hasn’t been an issue. Cleaning is a little easier. As everyone does, I took a wild guess in the gap and went with 3/8, but I ended up increasing it some. Luckily I have the ability to make that adjustment myself, as it took two tries to get it where it’s at. I may reduce the gap from where it is right now just a touch, due to the small testicle slipping out. Trying to hit that perfect number is trial and error.

I wish mine fit that perfectly. After I shrink/turtle then re-grow to my “normal size” the top of my head hangs up, therefore it wont allow the pee hole to point down and rest between the square made up of the 2 verticals and 2 horizontal bars. It’s usually “north” of the top horizontal bar. It’s only been a week but my body isnt learning to adjust to the proper positioning. It’s getting frustrating.

 

Takes time for our bodies to adjust.

 

They are amazing. Contact them, see how long it will take. They're usually pretty close with estimates. I've sent cages back twice and always got them back as promised or a little faster.

FYI, they've been on this site before they started their business and they're amazing folks. They make great products with incredible support which all other chastity device makers should emulate. My only "gripe" is I think they need to make a few new designs. I get some designs are classics and they should never stop making the jailbird. But with the rise in popularity of PA piercings, I'd love to see them offer a device more suited for those of us who have gotten pierced.

Other than that, all I can say is great things about them. Don't hesitate and you'll have your device back before you know it.

 

Found a little lube the first few days in the JB also helped. I’ve never had a cage that is the proper diameter before. So i was used to a lot of play in the cage. Now a little lube on the tip and there is turning movement, everything re-settles into place pretty well. Forget i am wearing it a lot of the time. Thanks for the encouragement.
