Been waiting for this product for a long, long time! I'm glad they are putting in the effort to make it the best it can possibly be, but oh my lord I want it now!!
The site has the over polished look of something that is trying to prove how professional it is, especially the performance graphs. I wouldn't get too excited, as they may never actually sell any remote control devices or have any plans of selling such devices. I could be wrong though.
If you look at their site's blog it is updated regularly and they seem to be nearing completion. The blog part of their site: http://www.dreamloverlabs.com/blog.php
If this product isn't real, then someone has way too much time on their hands because that site is pretty detailed and updates regularly. I want it to be a real product but after two years of R&D it's easy to not trust their integrity
It's been 'under construction' for donkey's years...I believe it when it happens! But the idea should work - I can't see what the problem is..
I believe this project started out as someone's garage hobby project (as Apple Computer did). He started a blog about it, discovered there was quite a bit of interest, and has been scaling it up into a commercial enterprise. I remember him asking, a while back, for help from people who knew about manufacturing, engineering, and legal aspects. It doesn't surprise me that it is taking a looooong time to move ahead. I'm impressed that it has advanced as far as it has.
The blog details some of the difficulties involved in trying to manufacture the device overseas, challenges with getting all the features that have been requested worked into the limited firmware on the device, and there was a long stretch where they were struggling with getting UL and CE certification. I guess demonstrating that a device which electrocutes the wearer's genitals is safe turned out to be more of a challenge than originally anticipated. I do believe that there is at least one real person behind this and that for this person it is a real endeavor that they have devoted considerable time and resources to. I do not think that this person is particularly well educated in how a business should operate, but I do think that they will eventually sell at least the original batch of product whenever it gets completed. -- GH
I'd say that it would be best to wait. It's normal to gouge early adopters and they'll eventually drop the price to get volume.
It sounds interesting. I am curious as to the amount of pain. If we are talking Taser quality pain then that is a no go for me. I have been Tasered and the thought of that feeling around the penis is down right scary. If the product is real and there is a significant drop in price then I may take it seriously.
It won't be anything like a taser. Tasers are specifically designed to disrupt the nervous system and can run at up to fifty thousand volts to properly penetrate soft tissue. The dream lover apparently runs at thirty volts with a similar amperage to a taser at 0.52 Amps. One possible problem though is the use of direct current which could theoretically cause electron migration in your testicular tissue. On the balance of probabilities though, it's likely to be pretty safe.
That device sounds SO GOOD! ... The price is crazy, but ... amazing device. I would love to wear one.
a bit disappointed in the price point. Hope they stick around long enough to sell the first batch and make them in quantity so they can get the price down. I bet they would sell then left and right at $300 give or take.
I think they'd probably need a mass production line if the price were $300. I wouldn't be too surprised if they sold loads even if the price were $500. We can but hope!
