    Well at this point I haven't heard back from either of them on what the next steps should be.

    I had an issue with a ring that was lost in mail. It did take some time for them to respond, Shapeways that is. But once they understood what happened they shipped me a free replacement very quickly. i've had no issues with them. Good luck.

    I don't ghost people, but I also do not have an opportunity to work every day - all information was provided to Shapeways and I received a message from my rep yesterday afternoon that said they were working on reprints or refunds for customers

    "Working on reprints or refunds for these customers. I'll report back what we can do, but support is on the case.

    I've got the overall info with our team to figure out how we can mitigate this issue moving forward. "

    I'm not sure which user you are on Shapeways, but I've replied with this information to anyone who's experienced this problem as of this morning. You're welcome to work directly with Shapeways support, I'm really just the middle-person, but if you reach out to me for help, you will get it.

    I just ordered a ring in this new material. It never occured to me that it might not fit with the cage and lock that I already have.

    I will report here once I get it and try it out.

    I think we all must keep in mind the technology here: 3D printed plastic.

    It's too easy to expect a fit to resemble that of machined metal surfaces. It's just NOT the case. And it's certainly not the case of poor design.

    Dare I say one of the reasons your device is about $70 (for a ring and cage) is because of the technology. The better "fits" of injection molded plastic require expensive tooling. Hence the CB and Holy Trainer people charge in excess of twice and much to pay for that tooling.

    I hope the fit thing resolves itself with Shapeways. But I remind us all that a little filing and smoothing may very well be in order.

    It will be a week tomorrow since I reported the issue and so far all I have heard is Shapeways telling me to contact you and you telling me to contact Shapeways. I'm sure you can understand my frustration.

    Have I been replying to you on Shapeways messaging?? Please message me here with your username on shapeways, or respond to your message again on Shapeways - I have only one message that says that shapeways told someone to contact me and there's nowhere in there that I told that person to contact Shapeways. If there's a message thread I'm missing and haven't responded to, responding to that will help me more than posting here (since there's no information on your order posted here)

    I have ordered at least 5 different cages and more rings off of shapeways from josielynn, not once has there been a problem with them fitting with each other. Im guessing this is a fluke

    I think so too. I own about half a dozen cages and as many rings. ONE cage required a little filing at the cage/ring interface.

    Frankly, I am pleasantly shocked at the precision of the 3D printed material. I think it's overall amazing.

    I’m a bit confused here. I’m just about to upgrade my CK to a short wide. When I go to select black PA12 I also see black smooth at double the cost. Is that the one everyone is discussing here? Glad I popped in before purchasing

    The various finishes have a large impact on the cost. They involve very different manufacturing ramifications.
