Quoting @true42 earlier today in the lady grumpiness poll, Covid has been like a slow-motion train wreck to many lives.
Sure we are not struggling to breathe, but...so much has been missed out, not so much for me but for my wife, and who knows what the delta will be for the kids learning and socialising...
My daughter is 12, so 2 years of Covid is 20% of her lifetime...

I remember when they started saying there's going to be shortages of toilet paper and I calmed everyone down...Nah that's ridiculous I said and thought...but with a lingering doubt that the world might collapse!

Chastity has been my journey since lockdown. But my good wife has not been in her best spirits.

I'll stop ranting and repeat @true42 : FUCK COVID.

Me and my wife have been lucky as Covid has not really affected us negatively at all. My wife did a work from home stint for about six weeks otherwise no change for her. I actually had to work more to cover for people who called in sick or had to isolate. I work in public transportation so I cannot work from home.

Our daughter in Montreal had her whole family get Covid. All three of them at the same time thankfully. All mild cases.

So basically no real hardship for us.

The restrictions and mental rules and laws that have changed have damaged many I know far more than the virus ever will.

Rather, on the contrary, working remotely helped to look at my life differently.

Covid made it so I’m not doing that much freelancing anymore, drained my savings, damaged relationships and made every “issue” I have way worse.

It didn’t kill me, but blah. Blah blah effing blah.

COVID is a reminder how fragile life is, how easily disrupted our complicated societies are, and how important it is to work together to combat them.

Well i know someone who died, several others who have had severe cases. some in my family work in service jobs so were constantly exposed potentially, which caused emotional issues. wearing a mask, keeping distance and getting vaccinated are small steps really.

Small steps vs severe cases, yep. But the emotional stuff is still part of the train wreck...

Seems that govt reaction has been worse than the disease although it is a serious disease. I lost a job making over 100k and took a year to get a job making 75k /year with no benefits and now inflation is eating away at that.

Yes it has fucked up my life, indirectly.
I now question everything most people say, I've become doubtful of other's opinions especially if these opinions are in contradiction with my believes.
It made me want to isolate myself and family from this completely unnatural madness that has since unfolded. We're not following science if we damage more then what we are trying to combat. We're following propaganda from all sides shouting profanities at each other, really?! ........This is what a virus has done to us as a species? or did we created this civil divide ourselves? Or was it planned.
We will not find the answers to these questions on this forum. So I won't get into it any more. There where 1000 ways to die,...since Covid there are 1001.
    But...
I see this amazing and beautiful planet with all its beautiful (and some not so beautiful) creatures and wonder why in the world we would waste our time hating on everyone that doesn't agree about a fucked up respiratory virus?

As someone who lives in the place with the longest lockdown in the world, yea it has been a bit of a downer on some many different levels. Chastity, socialising, work, fitness, friends, dating, adventures - pretty much you name it and we haven't done it in a LONG time :(

While I'm definitely not happy about it, I suppose that is life in a pandemic. Here's to hoping we are finally rounding the corner and can get to some sense of normality.

Stay safe, healthy, and sane my chastity family.

    It's been annoying.

Business has been great. People are fixing cars instead of buying new. New and used car prices are insane so it makes better sense to fix what you've got.

We are trying to help the kids keep a certain amount of normalcy. Doing way more camping, alot less social events. Spending time with our core group of friends.

It’s been a pest, a lot of others have gotten it a lot worse than me and my family, so I shouldn’t complain to much.

    COVID almost killed me.

    I was hospitalized twice.

The COVID turned into COVID pneumonia which then set my asthma off.

The second time I was hospitalized, I asked what were my chances of making it.

My doctor said "you will either suffocate and die or due to the massive amount of steroids you are on you could have a heart attack and die or you will make it.

    I refused to die.

I forced myself to breathe. I just focused on a spot on the wall and made myself breathe.

    But the damage is done.

My lungs are scarred from COVID. My doctor estimates I have lost 10-12% of my lung function.

My short term memory is shot. Brain damage from the lack of Oxygen I experienced. I need to write everything down I want to remember.

My personality has also changed. I am short tempered and snarky. I used to be a very kind and soft spoken person.

Also due to the massive amount of steroids that I was on, I gained 30 pounds. I am having a really hard time taking it off.

Overall I rate my experience a 1 out of 10. I do not recommend it.

    Iso.

I have not had it, and at sixty Im not bothered to miss out on socials, but Im very bothered how it affects the young ones experience of the world.

Anyway Iso we enjoy your comments even when they're snarky!
