"que tout soit en sucre" also sounds a bit weird, in a cute sort of way!

The Cajun french is brilliantly funny (it's a lovely Frenchglish spoken with a slow and beautiful southern drawl), but the French seem to be even crueler to the Canadian french.

    Sacre bleu!

It is not always easy for foreign speakers to pronounce the "other" language correctly. It makes a huge difference whether you learn it at school or on the street.

For me, it's a little easier because I had worked at Blizzard and they run their office in France.

In the daily use of the language, one changes a little the use of verbs.

And the choice of words that it makes life sweeter could also be translated as:

    Profiter de la vie douce.

I showed this to husband. He says a lot depends on who's talking and where they come from. down there. He said something about "parishes". Apparently, they don't have counties in Louisiana, just parishes.

He said it's really French, but 300 year old French. He did say sometimes when some speakers forget the French word, they just take the English word and make it sound French, but, he says it's mostly French. He mentioned in most cases, rather than just use English words like they do in France, he said they translate the English words word for word to French. He said they do that in Canada, too. He gave me some examples, but I didn't understand what he was saying. He said a lot of other stuff I didn't understand either.

He even tried to make comparisons in Spanish, l, but I didn't understand what he was saying since i can barely get by in Spanish. I passed Spanish in college, but pass was the best I could do. You had to pass a foreign language and I picked Spanish because I was going into the hospitality industry.

Let's add another dimension to this: Some say French is the language of love, some say it is Italian, where is the truth?
And which is the language os sex?

After traveling a bit in both, I would say the French refined romance and seduction to the highest degree. But, the Italians are all about passion and sex. Eh, but, what do I know being from America?

Thank you for your comments, having an "external" (as in American) opinion brings a lot of value!

I’m not sure how valuable it is! Americans have less exposure to other countries and cultures, but we are learning.

I find French and Italian design, and engineering absolutely brilliant. We hope to visit both again next year while visiting family in The Netherlands.

No, I haven't asked husband anything else about it. Is there something I should ask him?

Husband's the one with the education. He speaks Spanish and French. It's funny, he speaks Spanish like they speak in Spain but speaks French like they speak in the new world (at least that's what he says). I know they understood him fine when we were in Span. There are a lot of people here from Central America. We have a lot of Central Americans working at the hotel. The hotel employees who have talked to him say they can understand him, except when he uses some slang they only use in Spain.

On the other hand, they had a real hard time understanding him in France, Belgium or Switzerland. There's a Department Head at the hotel from Senegal and she has a hard time understanding him too.
