?

Is there too much topic hijacking?

  1. Yes. Topics often go off on a tangent

  2. No. It's interesting to see where it leads

  3. Not Bothered. Couldn't care less either way

One anonymous vote only. No changing your mind. Go with your gut or wait to see the discussions develop.

I think it is reasonable, and respectful of the Original Poster, to expect a topic to stay on track. I'm guilty of it too, but hope that people feel comfortable calling me, and others out on it. And if called out, the tangent offenders not take offence at the polite request to "Stay On Track"

I do feel sometimes tangents can lead to arguments.

I find it happens often when it he topic is somewhat political, social, or about what the “definition” of something is.

People want to discuss their view and why they have it. The examples used to back up their claims tend to spread to other more debatable ideas, and feathers fly.

A bit of it is fine, but I have no problem telling people that my thread isn’t about “that” and to start a thread about it if they would like to keep going in that direction(as nice as I can). I don’t feel upset about it, and although I called them out they are usually nice enough in return.

Free flowing conversation does twist a bit so I wouldn’t let it get to you too much.

Plastic cages suck and anyone using them isn’t into real chastity. Lol see what I did there?

If you had said "Legos" we would've had a problem.

I swear, I roll my eyes so hard that it gives me a headache every time someone writes "I'll be in permanent chastity for the rest of the week."

Now... Standing on Lego - that's really annoying - good one for the pain and punishment forum as well.

Blindfold your sub and have them walk through a room littered with lego bricks to fetch you a drink. Each time they cry / scream in pain, thats another week of denial!

As for threads going off on a tangent, it happens, not as much on here as I have seen on other boards, but sometimes thats just where a natural conversation goes.

In my opinion, some people worry about the craziest things. It is like they want to control everything.

The only problem with Legos is when you step on them in bare feet. It is a design flaw, they should have thought about that. Think of the children!

The plural of Lego is Lego bricks. Official company line on the matter. Legos, without an apostrophe is incorrect

We always called them Legos as kids, which was like 50 years ago. The company line is irrelevant to me.

As a Lego purist (no Megablox in my house!) I must express my outrage at your vulgar Americanism. Lol

While I have true distaste for the Megablock, my daughter is 2. But she is getting better with Duplo! So Lego is getting closer, we are in the right brand at least!

In our house I've often described it as:
    Little boy big Lego (Duplo)
Big boy Little Lego (the regular stuff)

It doesn't get to me always, but with certain topics it can be a bit irritating. Other times it's fun. My point is that most people know when it's appropriate or not, but still go off on one, and we shouldn't be afraid to call it.
