    I was listening to a conservative news/politics podcast yesterday (the Commentary Magazine Podcast) and the host brought up this recent news article from Rolling Stone - "Meet the Dommes who are Demanding their Submissives get Vaxxed":

    In my impression, the host brought it up mainly in the line of "Isn't this a crazy headline? These people are so strange." But, again my impression, one of the other members of the discussion was treating this as another normal lifestyle choice.

    Also, I hadn't come across this thread until now, but last winter when that story about the remotely locked chastity cage that got hacked came out, I remember seeing the story brought up in jokes on the Saturday Night Live Weekend Update segment and also by one of the late-night hosts (I forget which one - maybe it was Seth Meyers or Jimmy Kimmel).

    Not exactly mainstream, but ...I have seen a short blond haired lady - mid 40's - my guess in a local mall and supermarket on a few occasions - she always has a key (like the key for a chastity device) on her shoe lace .. will try to find out more next time i see her ... might be brave and ask her :)

    Not sure if it’s been brought up already, but the tv series “You’re the Worst” had an episode or two where a wife had her hubby get in a chastity cage and ended up cucking him

    My wife and I have been living a (semi-permanent) chastity lifestyle for a couple of years. I have told my wife that since you can buy all types of cages on Amazon, there must be quite a few others wearing chastity cages. I am not sure she believes me and I have never personally encountered anyone wearing a cage.

    Well a couple of hours ago I walked into a local pizza place to pick up a takeout order. The restaurant was empty except for a couple seated in a booth near the counter. I would guess they were in their late 30s. I glanced over and noticed that the man was wearing a beige cervical collar that you get for a neck injury. My order wasn't quite ready for pickup yet, so I had to wait by the counter. Looking at this couple again, I realized the "cervical collar" had a big loop (for a hook) on the front.

    At this point is dawned on me that he was wearing a BDSM collar. The woman seated next to him was wearing a necklace. However the counter in front of me blocked me from seeing what was at the end of the necklace. I wanted to walk over and check this out, but I resisted that temptation. Instead I paid for my order and walked out.

    At the same time this couple got up and walked out behind me. It turns out their car was parked next to mine (on my driver's side). I watched in my mirrors as the man opened the passenger door for his partner. As she stepped up into their SUV I could clearly see a key hanging from the necklace.

    We both drove away and I never spoke to these people. Now I am wondering what (if anything) I might say to this couple if I see them again? Here is some of what I was thinking:
    "Interesting collar"
    "Nice key"
    "Are you a keyholder"
    "Caged huh"
    "I am in a Cherrykeeper, how about you?"
    "You have a lot more nerve than me"
    Or maybe just keep quiet and mind my own business?

    I can only speak to myself, and my Goddess and I go out into public with me wearing Her small collar that has a small pink padlock in on it, that is very visible.

    I can't answer for her, but I would prefer to be left alone. It's an intimate time for us, as well as a further turn on in our dynamic. My Goddess is a lot more social than me, whether in our real or our alt lives, but I tend to think most would just prefer to be my seen from afar.

    I felt some strange "chastity comradeship" with the guy - even though I don't know him at all.
    But I will take your advice. If I am in a similar situation I will continue to mind my own business.

    Here is something I find ironic. I saw the collar on the man and the necklace on the woman and thought - I bet he is wearing a cage. But what clinched that conclusion for me was that he actually opened the car door for the woman and helped her in. That made me realize I need to up my game with my own spouse.

    I don’t know about others. But I simply say hello. It’s just the way I am. Any of the other things you have listed could be creepy. Now done right they won’t. But the odds are against you.

    I find hello works so well as I am simply being friendly and will say it to anyone. After that they have a chance to either engage or give a simple reply that’s polite but don’t bother us.

    It's strange, I see collars and keys all the time, often on TV.

    Just a few days ago I was watching a rerun of Pawn Stars. A very elegant woman comes in to sell a commercial calculator for the turn of the last century. She's wearing a gold necklace with 3 jeweled keys of slightly different shape and make, and one heart charm with a keyhole in the center. For the vanilla world it's just an odd necklace but to me there was only one meaning. Given her bearing and demeanor, the sub boy recognized a pretty cool domme.

    I just saw Chaos Walking (Chaos Walking (2021) - IMDb) on my way homme from a recent business trip. While chastity is not present in the movie, there are overtones of FLR all over the place. The females in the movie have a clear advantage over the males, the storyline was decent too.

    Stumbled upon this in the Belfast telegraph. (Was looking at an article on UK/NI COVID restrictions and found article below linked on their front page):

    Interesting that they describe it as "similar to a chastity belt for a woman" rather than just calling them male chastity belts...
