So I have got to send my Contender back for a repair, while it is with Mark I am getting the gap between base ring and cage made bigger, I should add I am pierced so there will be no pulling out. I am also adding 3 small bars across the underside of the cage so I cannot touch my frenulum in an any way. If you were going to modify your Contender what would you do and why?

Mark did add a “T” on the underside. A long rod in the center along the bottom which terminates against a short cross piece just behind the PA fixing. This prevented my magic spot, my frenulum, from getting any sensation. I’ve gotten very sensitive over time. It’s great he can add rods by clamping and brazing/welding.

I’m sure 3 cross rods would work great too!
You’re doing what I did: prevent my frenulum from bulging out even in the slightest.

    Enjoy!

One more thing. Not to the OP but other readers…

All y’all need to treat Mark right and appreciate him.

I have become shy of describing the customizations he’s done for me. It seems he gets a flurry of “me too” from folks that aren’t as polite and appreciative as I am as a customer. ;)

Custom design work takes more time than regular work. You all should understand the work curve. It’s a basic concept. Once you’ve got a process down doing a task, things go easy. If you have a workbench, with everything you need, things go smoothly.

Custom ”new” tasks disrupt a regular work flow. Unclear requirements take communication time.

I find this in my boring non-sexy work: something I haven’t done before takes longer than things I’ve done 100 times. If I’m unsure and if the path is unclear, you should expect it to take longer, and pay more.

Have you thought of any more / different modifications to your Contender?

I was actually pretty disappointed with Mark. After reading all of your glowing comments about MCN, I reached out to them (I've been thinking of switching from my Lori's to a Contender) and he completely blew off my questions I asked him and just sent me a generic 1 sentence reply without even answering the actual questions I had.

I can only say I have had a positive experience and good customer service.

I had a similar experience. I inquired about a double base ring a year or so ago and sizing. I thought he kinda talked down to me and was rude. I ended up going with Mature Metal. Couldnt be happier and they were friendly.
