Self build design and development

Having had a less than stellar experience with a Htv3 knock off (bulky, sweaty, pinch), a Chinese steel cage (pinchy and required constant lubing to be tolerable) and a fancy steel cup knock off (uncomfortable in various ways), I decided I could do better. I should also add I could easily achieve orgasm in all of the aforementioned.

I made an initial prototype from a cut up trug tub to get the sizing exact.

Once I had a steel tube (304 exhaust bend) I added this to a second plastic prototype to get the position correct.

At this point it became apparent that the tube shape wasn't right, so I made another version.

I then made what I thought would be the finished product, in 304 1.5mm sheet. After much bending and tweaking the belt was comfortable. However, the edges were creating pressure points so I added silicone edge bumpers. I also had an issue with my glans being 'smushed' into the end of the tube creating difficulty urinating and trapping urine inside the urethra. I added a forked part internally to resolve this.

I am now preparing to build Mark 2. 3mm plate to avoid needing edge bumpers which harbour odours and bacteria. 316 entirely for better corrosion resistance. A slightly longer tube to avoid the issues presented therein, also considering ventilation holes. Solid rivets for improved strength and fewer required, also lower profile, currently the sealed pop rivets protrude into the tube somewhat. While not uncomfortable, that could present issues with long term wear. Also, a different locking post, simply drilled to accept a larger padlock shackle rather than the current grooved item which necessitates use of a very small padlock.

It is totally secure, there is zero chance of pulling out, and no access for anything larger than a q-tip. I tried to bring myself to orgasm wearing it and found that to be impossible, even poking something through the very small gaps. For the next iteration I need to figure out how I can make it easier to clean - in particular under the foreskin - as I want this to be wearable long term

 

'In the shop' for adjustment today. Angle of tube opening cut back as it was pressing on pubic bone, also silicone edges glued on as they had started to come away. Will try another full days wear tomorrow to check on improvement.

 

Started work on mk2 today. 3mm steel plate is rather stiffer and heavier than 1.5! Excited for the latest refinements.

Mk2 will have easier access for q-tip cleaning under foreskin, but nothing much larger. Syringe of squirt bottle is the way to go for inside the tube for sure.

 

Update on progress: almost all holes drilled. A little grinding still to do, one last rivet hole to drill after bending. Almost ready to surface finish, bend and assemble.

 

All shaping completed and surfaces brushed. Finish not quite as fine as I would like, may revisit with more patience and better sandpaper. Just waiting on rivets for assembly now.

 

Thanks. I was actually a professional design engineer for most of my adult life but am now working out of a shed with no mains electricity. Roll on the day when my workshop is built!
