A lot depends on what you want them to do for you. Some like the pouch style brief, that has extra room in front for the cage. I assume those are guys with larger cocks/cages. Some like frilly, lace covered styles that fit with their sissy status. If you're smaller with tiny cage, then thongs, G-strings, or even crotchless panties would work. Personally, i wear a simple cotton bikini, for day to day, but also go for sexy, feminine style panties on occasions too. i'm on the smaller size with a short cage, so don't really have a need for a pouch style. The best is likely to find a local lingerie store and start working on a relationship with them. My Wife takes me to two local stores when I need new panties, one is a chain and one is a locally owned business. The owner of the locally owned store has been great, she's found me sizes in slips and garter belts that she normally doesn't stock, and was more than happy to measure me for a bra.
I have found that "boyshort" style panties seem to work best for me. Unlike the Holiday Inn Express, they have ballroom! I need room in the gussett area to keep everything contained, supported and comfortable.
Buying panties is fun, but can be a bit scary too. In person is always a rush, just feeling exposed in an area not normally frequented by men. LOL. Online is easier with more choices as long as receiving them in a package is not an issue. First thing, figure out your size, usually based on waist but with consideration of hips too. If you feel brave, ask a sales person for help. They generally will give you tips on what might work for you too.
I wear trunk underwear... you want something with a bit of a pouch but it needs to be form fitting. Get that 95/5 Cotton/Spandex or 100% polyester underwear.

My favorite undies, although not panties specifically, which work best for support and encapsulates the cage are JM Skinz thongs. This is a Canadian company that makes really good quality underwear. They have briefs and trunks but I have only bought the thongs. The first pairs are 4 years old and as good as the day I bought them. They offer great support and the front is double lined to help smooth out bumps. I recently bought 4 more pair as I'm trying to have longer lockups and these are the ones that seem to work best for me, I wear them everyday. My skimpier thongs don't cover everything as well and I find clothes irritate things, I am a newbie though. Side note, they are so well constructed I used them as a swimsuit once in Mexico, they are that awesome.

They are made out of the same silky stretchy that are my favorite ones that my wife wears. And she likes them too! Today is the first day that I have ever worn them and much less a thong. Jesse super comfy once you get past the string up the crack. But the hold my cage very nice and secure. They take a while to get as they come from China. Only bad thing.
