    It doesn't really matter that this is publicity by Public Fail - chastity is one of those fetishes that people don't know they have because they don't know it exists, so this will trigger a wave of explorations.

    Does it matter to us? I think the more people into male chastity, the better the range of devices.

    That kind of explains how I learned of male chastity. I had no idea it existed until I stumbled on the product page for the CB6000 while looking for something to add to our bondage toy collection. True, I was already on a fetish site and not mainstream media, but learning there were actual devices for that purpose was a revelation.

    i too was quite shocked when I saw the CellMate thing rippling across various mainstream and niche infosec and tech news sites. But judging by the number here who have some form of "IT person" in their Occupation field, maybe I shouldn't have been :D

    I definitely wasn't shocked when Cory Doctorow wrote it up -- he's posted both kinky stuff and poorly secured IoT devices on Boing Boing for years. He adds the cellmate to a rather extensive list of smart sex toys with extremely poor privacy/security practices.

    I thought this would generate a little excitement on this thread. Sighting? It’s a smoking gun. It literally says cock cage, they hold the device...on a tv show. It’s out there, and people know about it.

    What an interesting thread. I always sort of think back to watching Big Bang Theory, a show I am not overly fond of and seeing Sheldon walked out dressed in a sissy maid costume. I had an internal chuckle at that one. A very heavily watched program is showing one of my base desires!

    They also did a promo shoot a few years back with Sheldon in a harness and BDSM wear and the lead girl in a dominatrix getup.

    Only problem with kink in Hollywood/TV is that it is usually played for laughs or as an outsider/"weirdo" plot device as they do with many marginalized or minority groups.

    Yes, they tend to play it that way. But i always suspect the writers have more interest in that kink than they might admit. Just want to work it into a storyline.
