If I make one myself I like some British red cheddar, a scoop of fried onions, heinz ketchup, american mustard and thinly sliced pickles on a sesame bun.

Bacon, lettuce, bacon, sliced tomato, bacon, sharp cheddar, bacon, and a schmear of Miracle Whip (not mayo).

And since it's Paradise, I'll have it rare, with a side of thick, crispy fries, and a pickle spear.

My preference is good quality beef and American cheese only on a bun. I will occasionally add sautéed mushrooms and onions, but nothing else.

Almost right :). English Cheddar ... no-one else can it would seem make cheddar
with a proper beadcake that shows your burger some respect not those pathetic lightweight fall apart things. Also benefits from very thinly sliced tomato

Not musts but; Bacon is occasionally a good addition as is pineapple maybe even an egg. all three are good for a less than good burger.

No sauces or mustard mayo etc. If I did not like burgers I would not eat them, and disguising the taste with a load of crap why bother..just eat something you do like. A BLT for example.

If you bought one from the average entertainment/fairground /sport venues... some Heinz 57 will adequately and agreeably disguise all that is wrong with what they laughingly call a burger

A nice wide French bread; for the crunch, Lettuce, Tomato, Ketchup, mayo and super sharp Provolone.
Also the burger has to be grilled or broiled not fried. Medium rare other wise it's like shoe leather.

Lettuce, onions, slice of tomato, ketchup, mustard (yellow), hot sauce (Frankie's red hot) and either dill pickle slices or relish. Chips/fries/wedgies on the side. I haven't had a pickle spear in so long I can't remember how good they are.

Look look at what was said ... honey apple vegetables just look at that and in a thread about burgers.

The depravity that goes in in some people's lives.

I can't believe how many people in the UK don't realise that you can ask for things like mustard and pickles to not be put on the burger in the first place ... and yet so many times you see that people have scraped them off with a tissue or the box lid.

That said if I eally wanted a burger Micky D's is not where I would go for one. Burger King at a pinch..maybe.. but home made is always best then you can contol the whole process and select the ingredients yourself.

In all fairness I think any one person's burger choices on any given day are as individual to them as is a fountain pen.

If not home made, then one from 5 Guys, Whataburger, or In and Out, depending on where in the U.S. you are. Two patties, bun, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, dill pickles, and a slice of American Cheese. Feel sorry for you in UK that can't experience real hamburgers.

I tried doing a search for burger places in my hometown. My only criteria were that the place it be within 10 miles of where I live and have an online menu so I could check that cost would be under £10.

Other than Micky D's and Burger King I only came across a few. and some.of those I rule out for personal and ethical reasons.

So I guess if you want a really good burger you either pay a lot for it or make your own.

They make it the way I want or they make it again.

Your mention of Burger King reminded me of another good ingredient. Ate there several times a week when I was a mail man. Don't remember what they called it but my favorite had everything i mentioned plus Jalapeno slices.

I think they are more or less local to Central Texas but we just got a place called "P Terry's". Great burgers and come with a BIG order of great fries.

I thought that burger king shot themselves in the foot yeas ago. they sold onion rings.. McDs dont but they stopped doing their milkshakes inthe same sizes as McDs and put them in clear little plastic tubs then when the popularity of those inevitably fell they dropped the milkshakes altogether. Now BK looktobe struggling.

What an acquaintance of mine does if its not raining she goes to McDs and gets her and the kids milkshakes then shoots up the rood to BK and gets food and onion rings whatever etc.

I'd have thought it beeter and cheaper to get onion rings at BK then go to McDs for the rest you could even eat inside the staff just would not care enough tosay anything if they noticed.
