Getting into cycling season and my first ride is on the calendar. Any cyclists out there who are locked? I've never cracked this "chastity use case," particularly when doing longer triathlon rides. That "crunched forward" position on an unforgiving saddle pedaling at 90 RPM while wearing skin-tight shorts is hell for even a small cage.

Has anyone figured out how to be a semi-serious cyclist while caged? Any advice would be most welcome.

As it stands, my KH loves my fitness more than my being locked 100% of the time, so the plan is to unlock for rides. Would be nice to find an alternative that lets me stay locked.

Just get an exercise bike with no saddle you'll be fine and your lady can keep an eye on you so being unlocked should present no problems.

Semi-serious MAMIL cyclist here. I don't do tris, but I ride 50 to 100 miles a week. I live in New England, so it's hilly. I've tried a lot of combinations, but there's the thing: you have to decide if the chafing or constant adjusting is worth the bragging rights to tell anonymous people on an internet forum that you ride caged.

I'm an older guy, and a few years ago I tried this saddle: Selle SMP TRK. I mainly tried it because my man bits were getting numb after longer rides, and 4 different saddles didn't seem to fix the problem. It's not specifically for road bikes, but I don't care - this is the most comfortable saddle I've had. They make a range of saddles with this split-taint, eagle-beak design, and they have something for tri bikes. One day, I'll probably get a nicer leather model, but for now I'm happy.

I did not buy this saddle with wearing a device in mind - but last year I started riding caged when I discovered that it was okay. For me, I found that if I lubed up a lot beforehand, I could get 15, maybe 20 miles if it wasn't too strenuous. But by 25 miles, I found myself spending too much time fidgeting, adjusting, and wishing I'd brought more lotion. Riding in the drops was okay, but it was def more comfortable on the hoods. And obviously, even more on the bar.

Here's my take. I wear an A272. There's a spare key in the bathroom. When I'm going out, I put on my kit, remove the device, and head out. When I get back home, the first thing I do is head for the shower, so I bring the key in and lock back up while I'm washing (Also: I wash my shorts and jersey in the shower, and hang them out to dry). I mean, I'm certainly not going to pull over on the side of the road for a quick wank, and when I get back from hill climbing in my area, I'm too freaking tired to even think about it. My wife is fine with this. Also, when you're cranking along, you want to be focused on the road - the last thing you want is to hit a pothole or stick because you suddenly had to shift your cage to the other side.

I'm a bike commuter but only several miles each way
I wear loose fitting bike shorts (by J&G) and ride a Brooks saddle
No problems but again I don't go far or fast

    Thanks, Tom! Great info.

Haha. No kidding. I think there's enough fantasy B.S. out in Internet Land already, and the only two people I'm interested in pleasing are my wonderful lady and myself.

This is my solution, too. No big deal. I wasn't riding for a while, so now I'm used to not having to unlock. Running is FAR easier in a cage -- loose shorts, no "crouch" -- but as I get older the bike is easier on the knees.

Chastity for me has always had a large component of experimenting and finding solutions; just part of the game. I appreciate the pointers and will see what I can figure out.

I'm a serious cyclist and a combination of Tom and R2002. During the work week I commute 7 miles each way, locked, on a carbon hybrid (to be more upright to see traffic better). On the weekend I do a long 50-70 mile ride in the country with climbing, on a road bike, with competitive people. For these I unlock and then relock in the shower like Tom. My general guideline is 25 miles -- less I stay locked on either bike, more I unlock.

I have to add a caveat. I have no problems when I am wearing my mature mistress metal device which is 99% of the time. Yesterday I had to wear my old cb6000 plastic device and I broke the ring while cycling

Exactly. If you're not exercising simply because you can't unlock your plastic or steel penis jewelry for a couple of hours, then you may need to re-examine your life priorities. This is a similar argument as the one about removing it for airline travel. Personally, I don't want to take the chance that I get checked by the one TSA agent who is having a bad day. I also don't want to pack my good device in the bag, in case one of them gets curious and removes it as a "security concern." I'm fine with removing the device, and putting on the CB3000 after I arrive. It's not worth the internet points just to say "I never take mine off."

Yup, me too. Plus, I found running to be boring. ;-)

And I've tried different bikes, saddles, and devices. I had a Birdlock, which being squishy silicone was okay, but I did not care for it as a device. And I did not specifically buy this saddle with a device in mind; I accidentally rode out one day with just the ring on, and realized it a mile or so from home. I then tried a few rides with the entire device. It was doable, but not so much that it's worth doing all the time.

So, yeah - just take the damn thing off and get your exercise in. The only people who matter are you and your wife. The rest of them are just snide and smarmy anonymous wankers on some internet group.

cycling is the one time im unlocked.
its not good for you to have the seat pressing on the cage. also the cage bulges out very noticeably when wearing cycling shorts.

The saddle that I linked to is split, and the nose curves over, so it actually does prevent the cuff ring from pressing into your taint.

My cage (A272) does not really poke out, although if you stare, you might notice the bars at the tip printing a bit.

Amazing ride this morning! No cage, no chaffing, no guilt, no Internet Points. Thanks, everybody, for all the thoughts, information, and advice.

    i'm riding
    but for pleasure
i've to seat from top to rear when wearing my CB
my queen prefers no CB when cycling
but she looks at my gps computer when i'm back and she verifies that my stops ) are short stops and not behind houses and that my pulses are down when i stop.

Nice to to read about this. I was wondering for quite some time what others do. I take my restraint of for long bike rides. To much discomfort and I need to focus on the road and my fellow cyclist. Sometimes speed can get very fast and I see a lot of people falling of their bikes...My lady insists that I take it of on longer rides.

Commuting though is not a problem.

Happy to have read all about this topic as I am a fanatic cyclist with a lot of KM per year! Thanks

if one of yours is afraid
you can leave the cb at home
and take a good gps and one heart computer with you
riding without stopping more than 1 or 2 mn
    when you're back home
She can see what you did, where and how long you stop
    and all your heartbeats.
if they climb when stopping, that means that you play alone....

I rode my Wife's bike yesterday for a few miles. She has a Brooks b67s, which has a shorter "nose". I found it more comfortable (less interference with my device) than my "standard" brooks flyer saddles. I may try a flyer s on one of my bikes.

I’m not a die hard chastity as I take mine off to go gym, yoga, golf (affects my swing) and mountain biking.

Long distance cycling and chastity don’t seem to go hand in hand for me (sorry to those who don’t agree lol)

Admittedly mountain biking is more impactful so I don’t take chances

Like it.. although I'd of thought the saddle digging into your prostate and your chastity device were more the origins of really cross-training

Metric century today (100 km, 62 miles). Due to Locktober, decided to ride locked in my A273 (which has not been off for any reason in Locktober). No problems, and averaged 17 mph with 3400' of climbing. Proud to be locked.
