Does anyone have experience with The Amicus cage twisting? I find it never sits straight for long. Always twisting to the side. Wondering if this happens with anyone else and if it's a sizing issue or a common side effect of the model itself. Thanks.
I never figured that out. But I went with a tighter oval ring from MaleChastityNow and that stopped. My earlier baserings were much wider and round. So perhaps they allowed it to turn. It never bothered me. It just was curious. Does it bother you?
It doesn't bother me in a physical way. I suppose it's just a matter of preference. I'm a bit of a neat freak and a tad OCD about symmetrical lines. So, I'd like the lock to sit upright in the middle. I think I'll strongly consider a tighter oval ring. Thanks for the input @Peter Rabbit ! Much appreciated.
@keyheld The Amicus is a semi-custom cage built by Mark over at MaleChastityNow.com @_and_smile He makes his own baserings from 316L stock materials. You can ask for an oval ring. I requested one that was 1/8” out of round (1-3/4” nominal squished to 1-5/8” x 1-7/8”). It never turns sideways on me. I also specified a top mounted post which lines up the tops of the cage and base rings. It sure if that would change turning. Not sure what you mean about the lock sitting upright in the middle though. I’m just not visualizing it today. You mean the keyhole pointing upwards, with the shackle sitting up like the letter U? I’m using the security screw but I remember locks flopping around, and letting the cage twist a bit.
@Peter Rabbit We've decided to go with a smaller oval ring to see if it fixes the issue. In the future, I think we'll probably change to a security screw as well. Thanks for the info!
How did the change work out? I'm considering purchasing one. Also what's you and yours overall opinion of the device? Thanks!
The twisting in my Contender-prototype early on never really bothered me. That was a few years ago. It was just curious. Perhaps it was because I chose a longer length and wider base ring.... perhaps my clothes pushed the cage sideways to “pack” left. Does that make sense? Since then I got a tighter basering, and a shorter cage as I’ve become comfortable being kept small and snug. I’m happy with Mark’s work at MaleChastityNow.
If you dip base ring in PlastiDip, it will make it smaller and will turn less because the rubber grips the skin pretty good. You can get it at many hardware stores for under $10.
