Kink Shaming....

It is interesting to see this topic come back around again. @Living Curious started a thread with the exact same tile in September of last year that I participated in quite a bit. I think for the most part CM is a highly supportive place. It's one of the reasons I still come here even though I'm not currently practicing a chastity lifestyle. I think it's good that we all stay vigilant against kink-shaming (aka bullying) and call people on it when we see it.

in regards to the line between shaming and humiliation, I find this fascinating. I'm going to start a new thread on this topic right now.

 

You're all good. In fact I'm glad you created a new thread with the same title. I think this is one of those messages that needs to be said again and again. Hope you and your sub don't take any negativity to heart and keep your posts unfiltered. Those are the most fun. It also led me to the whole shaming vs. humiliation concept which I really do find fascinating. Hope you find time to comment on thread I just created as I'd welcome ideas from the humiliators as well as the humiliaties.

If you have the fetish to belittle another, or the fetish to be belittled - that is great you know that about yourself. And i embrace what you want for your relationship.

All i am saying is that whatever the kink ... tease and denial, chastity by lockup, chastity by honor system, being sissified, or being a maid, or bondage, caning, body worship, etc ... even belittling ... its all fine.

The only prerequisite is that it be mutually agreed upon with ones partner(s).

I dont want to delve into the world of clinical psychology of dysfunctional relationships ... but, forcing ones will on another against their will is more describing an unhealthy Intimidator/Victim arraignment.

 

There can never be too many threads that highlight bullying and kink shaming is bullying.

 

@PouchPantyLover thank you for bringing my attention to the previous thread on the same discussion.

It appears that the concern hasn't dwindled yet nothing has been done to rectify the problem. The previous thread become even more outlandish with the same individual @Mascara^Snake asking whether Pedophilia would be an accepted forum topic and I quote:

'Also if the site began to attract a lot of paedophiles [sic] for example, would that kink be ok [sic] or would it be seen to be un-PC?'.

@L-u-c-y Is this the kind of behavior that is acceptable here or should it be removed from the forum and site entirely?

I will not be shamed for my kinks however those who shame should be called out on their in-tolerance and should not be tolerated.

 

I think you need to consider the fact that the thread you are complaining about is over a year old and the issue had been resolved as suggested in that thread by creating an area in the mansion for topics concerning "other kinks"

However, the topic of kink shaming has been deliberately revived by some of the more corrosive elements in the site in order to kickstart a fresh round of person shaming which is not only allowed here, it's positively revelled in ( by some)

 

Do you not see the contradiction in that statement? You are calling for intolerance as a way of combatting intolerance. Where does that end? In total censorship, no-one allowed to say anything, because everything offends somebody.

 

I agree with Lester. Bits of this thread also smack of bullying and seem unworthy.

 

Very good point @LesterBallard and poor wording on my part. What I should have said is that people should stand up to intolerance as opposed to accepting it. I've always been a proponent of free speech. I've always liked the statement "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". That being said I do think there are limits. The classic example is yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is not covered by free speech. The reason I like this thread and the prior Kink-Shaming thread is it allows people to rally around the point that this site is built on tolerance and acceptance of many things that don't see the light of day for most of us.

 

I just replied to a guy on fetlife who was saying he is more poly than the rest of us. He said that being polyfidelitous in a triad was the same as monogamy with three people. He went on to say that he is truly poly because sex is allowed with anyone outside the immediate poly family. I hate when people make up rules for fetishes that have no rules. I once read that bad fetishes were simply those that you did not do. Such is life.

A link or explanation of the kink shaming you experienced or witnessed would be helpful. Not all of us have the time or motivation to swim through your deluge of posts (40 today compared to the combined 39 of the rest of the day's top posters) and the responses to your posts to find what you're talking about.

As a gay male switch on a site focused on femdom, I can imagine you have kinks not pertinent or not very pertinent to men interested in women. I'd say pretty much any of those involving another man or the mechanics of having sex with men fit into that category.* However, that's not to say you don't deserve to be treated with respect.


*Yes, a woman forcing her locked partner to have sex with men is possible.
